Vertonghen is making so many rookie errors - he's not watching the ball onto his foot, which is making his first touch rubbish.
HT 1-0 Bar the Arsenal thunderbolt, this is going the same way as it did against Chelsea - us dominating without creating anything. Let's hope the second half doesn't go the same way as it did against Chelsea
We've had lots of possession without creating any meaningful chances. Arsenal are happy to sit back and then hit us on the break, when they know our defence will be too high up the pitch and they'll get in round the back with a simple pass. Sherwood's fuming at the players for using his tactics.
I would say we are the better team here. However we look like conceding and never look like scoring. Other than that, it's going well.
This for me is the most Redknapp type performance I have seen from Spurs since he left. We are creating many more chances than recent games although our defence is an accident waiting to happen.
You should have done better in that first half, we're playing with 10 men (Giroud isn't a footballer), you've had most of the ball but not done much with it.
The thing is Moorpheus you know it will. I can't see is scoring at all. I know I'm being negative but I can't help it after 25 years of being a Spura fan. This season really is the icing on the cake, so much hope and expectation and what a load of absolute ****. A thrashing at home by our bitter rivals would top things off nicely.
We just need that extra piece of quality with the ball, Eriksen and Adebayor don't have that 3rd man to work with so I would bring on Soldado or Paulinho as while we're dominating and looking impressive in controlling the game and the attitude is spot on, we clearly need someone who can make runs into the box other then Adebayor. Bentaleb would be the one to withdraw as he has made some impressive passes but he doesn't offer any real protection so we're playing a highline and Bentaleb is watching space. But overall we can't fault the players attitude and the players heads never dropped.
Last year the goons passed us to death and lost. This year we're dominating and losing. Its such a fine line as all it takes is one peice of quality as we saw with their goal so I won't be too hard on the team as at least they are trying to make up for having Chadli on the pitch.
The pressing wasn't happening in the midfield. Suicide with a high line. Defence pulled all over the place as a consequence. Think this is what enfuriated Sherwood.
His best game was away to Newcastle, today he gets shown up in a defensive aspect but when he has the ball his passing has been impressive but we need more quality on the pitch to create chances otherwise we could spray around impressive passing for 45 minutes and not create anything.
Much more possession, but not where it counts (as always) . And the usual slow/sloppy passing that enables their defence to press. Common sense means their FBs should be mercilessly run at.
