Would drop Gerrard for the cup game but play him against Everton, he's bound to be up for the derby, would be silly to drop him IMO.

If I could I would rest: Gerrard, Sturridge, Coutinho, Suarez, Henderson

Yeah. No way in the world can I see BR dropping his scouse club captain for the derby game, unless he's broken both his legs.

  8. Would that mean Coutinho is playing against Everton or that Sterling will be playing both games because Ford needs a rest that much?

  10. That's hardly resting Coutinho but I agree <ok>

I know there's a thread, I had a slight hissy fit about it on Monday <laugh>

Yes I think Coutinho does. It's not just in the Villa game that he's run out of ideas and then legs. But I would play him in the Derby.

Sterling would then have to play both games but I somehow feel that Rodgers is waiting for is form to dip slightly so that he can give him a rest too.

I don't know if Coutinho needs a rest or not but I will say, his last 6 months with us has been quite poor compared to first 6 months.

Not that he has been all bad... just hasn't been the amazing creative force he started out as.

he just needs to look up and pass it better to create a few. be content with that and stop trying to beat 6 and score.

it'd help if he moved more. thats the tiredness angle.

  14. Pretty much that bit. He's said he needs to score more but he is trying far to hard to make that happen. He's trying to force chances / goals rather than playing his normal game and taking a chance what it presents itself. As you said, plenty of movement is needed, he'll get chances anyway.

    so...

    FA cup 4th round

    Arsenal VS Coventry City
Nottingham Forest VS Preston North End

    AFC Bournemouth VS Liverpool
    Sunderland AFC VS Kidderminster Harriers
    Bolton Wanderers VS Cardiff City
    Southampton VS Yeovil Town
    Huddersfield Town VS Charlton Athletic
Port Vale VS Brighton & Hove Albion
    Southend United VS Hull City
    Rochdale AFC VS Sheffield Wednesday
    Wigan Athletic VS Crystal Palace
    Manchester City VS Watford
    Birmingham City VS Swansea City
    Stevenage VS Everton

    Sheffield United VS Fulham
    Chelsea VS Stoke City

lets look at the whole round... surely there's some shocks in here somewhere. I have marked out my predictions in bold

my 5th round draw would be

    Arsenal
    Forest
    LFC
    sunderland
    Cardiff
    Southampton
    Huddersfield
    Brighton
    Hull
    Shff W
    Palace
    City
    Everton
    Fulham
    Cheslea

thats 11 prem teams out of 6 so we're twice as likely of getting a prem team as a lower div one in round 5..... a home draw will be important for us.

I'd love a draw v huddersfield meself ;) but as long as we avoid the top 3 in the prem... we've a chance.

can't wait to see who gets shocked... would love it to be cheslea...

yes. if his movement was as good (well lets be fair suarez put sterling in for easy ones) as sterling's lately he'd get a few tap ins. get beyond suarez, show calmness, aim, get it on target, score... not try to take it up wider left, cut in and get the head down and shoot wide.. its so predictable.

the rest i asked for 2 weeks ago was predicated on him showing little in the way of movement and closing down. villa game proved it for me.

Man City to win by less than 5 goals

  18. He likes to blast it rather then go for placement, I think this is because he likes to show how much power he can produce .

Can the title be changed to just Bournemouth?

I love the FA Cup and would love us to win it again as I really do think the feeling you get as a fan is 10 times as good as you'd get on the final whistle if you finish 4th, however after being away from the CL for so long, maybe that feeling would be a lot better than when we were under Rafa and it was the more norm.

Would like to see Kelly get some game time at RB to see how he get's on. Also give Gerrard a rest as he's going to be playing against Everton so why play him in this game as well? Maybe Allen Henderson Alberto in the middle and give Aspas another chance to prove he's good enough. Would hope we rest one of Suarez or Sturridge, we shouldn't need them both, at least not from the start.
