I'd probably go (if fit).. -----------Mignolet----------- Flanagan-Skrtel-Sahko-Johnson Put Johnson at LB as he desperately needs to recapture his form, maybe being at LB will force him to focus more or may benefit him as he'll be less predictable. If no Flanno then give Kelly a chance.
I think the line-up against Bournemouth depends on the side that will face Everton. The latter game is the more important one and we'll want to preserve our players for it. Therefore, to predict the line-up for the cup game you need to first pick the line-up for the derby
in that case drop flanno as he is needed more for the bitters game, why do we still have Kelly if he cant even get a cup game ffs. be happy with Agger and Toure then against bitters?
in the end go to bournemouth = a long journey. there is an airport. LFC want to lay on a trip down, stay overnight and travel back same day of match.. get out even with a draw... who cares! i'd not take gerrard. i'd not even consider him playing this then trying to chase everton 2 days later. I would go 4-4-2 and pick the team like this: Mingolet (jones is awful) Mclaughlin (I would) skertl Toure (sahko might not be fit) cissohko. (flanagan if fit) Ibe Allen Henderson Alberto Aspas Suarez I would stick sturridge on the bench but try to avoid using him and i'd try to protect coutinho and sterling too. I'd need both mind. I would rely on the central spine of "senior players" to get you through even with a draw. Protect sturridge, gerrard, johnson, sterling, coutinho for the next game.
protect Johnson? he is ****e whoever he is playing, **** him, make the **** earn his 100k a week wages, ****! if need be flanno and Kelly for bitters game, johnson needs a wake up call, doubt he would care, but we can but hope.
you won't be saying that he he limps off and leaves us looking at wisdom and ilori out on loan and only kelly to play... un fit. I would however agree the state of his now last 6 games would indicate 600k down the toilet... none the less we need some sort of performance v everton so i think we need to rest him. I'd love to give him a wake up call but for that we need an actual option. kelly aint providing it after one game v oldham.
Jones, Kelly,Toure, Agger (if fit),Cissokho, Sterling,Gerrard,Allen,Henderson,Alberto,Ibe,Aspas Bench: Suarez,Enrique,Sakho (if fit) Skerts
Never know they might give us the run-around and we'd need 12!! Jones, Kelly,Toure, Agger (if fit),Cissokho, Sterling,Allen,Henderson,Alberto,Ibe,Aspas Bench: Suarez,Enrique,Sakho (if fit) Skerts, Gerrard
c'mon guys this is the next match and its the FA cup. nobody looking forward to it.. anyone making a trip. anyone actually care? its on at a horrible time of the day but its a tie to get to the last 16 of the cup. should be the magic of the cup and all that going on.
couldn't give a **** about it, I will watch it of course (is it on TV?) but will care as much as if it were not much more than a pre-season game - how have the FA let this happen?
be watching on the tele hopefully, depends if i have other things planned as have young kids, not always as simple as **** it footie is on **** you lol (thats at my other half not the kids) hope we have been working on our shoddy defending from set pieces in training or we could be in for a ruddy shock, hope not, but then if we don't get players in do we have the squad to piss about with a cup as well as league?
it is on itv. can i ask HOW DID YOU LET IT HAPPEN!!!! its your FA cup start caring and they will care now how about a radical experiment for this game. no seriously this is a completely nuts idea what would be funny to see tried Gerrard ... centre half. Mingolet Johnson Gerrard Toure Sissoko what about it alds.. think it'd be a giggle.. it'd be a guy taller than carragher, playing the ball out form the back... its bournemouth not utd for chff sake lets have a go for the laugh!
course we do. an its not pissing about in a cup. this is not arsenal's annual preseason success. this is the FA cup. its a final that'll be watched still by 6-700 million people if the big team are in it. its the Fa cup, its silverware and its a defining moment in rodger's career at LFC. win the 4th place "trophy" and go no to win nothing at lfc means for me he's another hodgson. won nothing at lfc. win the fa cup and get sacked. place in history... simple. I'd rather win a trophy than be like happy harry redknapp at spurs or moyes at everton.
Its just unfortunate it is so close to a 7 pointer against Everton (as close as fight for too four is... has to be worth a bonus point)... 7 points could take us top of the table! I'm surprised mid table teams don't win the league... they have more 6 pointers than anyone else. Anyhow... yeah FA cup... should be fun game... but overshadowed by derby.
bigger picture mito, esp in this case. do we have the squad for a cup run as well as top 4 finish personally i don't, and we need top 4 to keep hold of luis at all costs or it will set us back further, get that cl place we can then see for sure if the owners are all talk, as its easy to say while we don't have cl to not buy ruddy players.
i don't agree and i'll just set out a case. you might agree or disagree. the case for trying to win the FA cup: 1. A cup run adds impetus to a season. Its something that can build form 2. there is nothing else for us. We are LFC. we are not everton. a trophy is a measure of success. a trophyless season = a bad one.. OR SHOULD. thats what we are aiming for. 3. fixtures 28 jan Everton 2 feb West Brom 8th feb Arsenal 12th Feb Fulham this is set in stone... no matter is we win or lose to bournemouth 15th feb FA CUP 5th ROUND 23rd Feb Swansea - if we were out of the cup this would be a 2 week break. March 1 Southampton March 8 Sunderland OR FA cup 6th round please note sunderland are still in the cup v kidderminister so in theory this game could be called off if we are in it or not March 15 Man United Away.. after what could be again a 2 week break... do we really want a two week break before we play utd.. maybe maybe March 22 Cardiff March 29 Tottenham April 5 West Ham April 12 Man City OF FA cup semi... man city want to win all 4. ergo this game WILL VERY LIKELY be rescheduled april 19 Norwich again want a two week break between games? April 26 Chelsea May 3 Crystal Palace May 11 Newcastle May 17 FA cup final so reality check.. the fa cup 5th round has a break built round it no matter what we do. sunderland could be in the sixth round and city will be in the semi. so in reality we are talking one game a week plus 2 matches (city and sunderland) to be rescheduled if we are going all the way two matches to fit in? VERSES 3 occasions where we end up playing with 2 week gaps... I personally think an end of season with nothing but the league is not good and it can disrupt just as more. 4. someone has to stand up and say the big boys will want to win it. do we want to be paul lambert in the lower half content to struggle or a big boy. .................. thats the best case i can make for trying our hardest here. I am sure the case for getting out of this can be equally made as i can see points about rests and small squads and all sorts but.... but... I can see the shiny trophy and want it.
Bournemouth: -------------Aspas -------Coutinho----------Ibe -------------Gerrard --------Alberto -------------Allen Flanno---Sahko---Skrtel---Kelly -------------Migs Would play Sahko and Skrtel to try and get fitness up and to re-establish the partnership before Everton. Flanno depends on fitness, maybe give him a half if he can be ready for Everton. Coutinho needs confidence hence the start. Everton: ------------Sturridge ---------Suarez--------Sterling ------------Coutinho -----Henderson --------------Allen Flanno---Sahko---Skrtel---Johnson --------------Migs Drop Gerrard, he's too immobile.
