Breakfast for the lazy: introducing Yowk, the pre-boiled egg

If you have trouble boiling your egg to perfection, then help may be on the way.

Yowk, a product from the New Egg Company, promises to make a perfect, soft-dipped boiled egg every time.

    (Yowk.co.uk)
The package contains one perfectly runny, pre-cooked boiled egg, pre-cut soldiers, salt and a 'Spooth' - a spoon that includes a tooth to help you crack the shell.

The egg is cooked in its shell before hitting the shelves, and is transformed into breakfast perfection within five minutes by simply adding boiling water to the pot.

    (Yowk.co.uk)
Managing director Ian Hetherington said: "Making Yowk portable, simple and fast to prepare were key elements in its development and will appeal to a broad demographic, including busy families and professionals who would eat more eggs if it was guaranteed that they would achieve a runny yolk every time. Now with Yowk, they can."

The company is hoping to have the product, which retails at £1.49, on the shelves by the end of May. Will you be rushing to buy it - or does a convenience version of one of the simplest meals around strike you as madness?

Here's an idea, re-sticky my dinner thread, sticky the lunch thread and sticky the breakfast thread. That way all meals will be covered and food related discussion won't pollute the rest of the forum for those who aren't interested.

Until I post an Elevenses thread that is, being the wind up merchant you all can't help but love.

Supper is toast made on the open coals of a fire.

You might as well not bother as that's it.
