I don’t agree with fans tagging in a player who is trying his best, but is clearly not good enough (it’s very different to the situation we had with Lyle Taylor last season). Equally, when a player starts giving it back to fans on social media, it never ends well.
He surely can't have been as bad all his career as he has been for us. He just doesn't look like a footballer, yet that's what he's been for what, 10 years? Sometimes he's so bad it's almost comical, a bit like Thuram in goal. Strange.
We needed him to score goals, he isn't doing it. If he had 8 assists already that would be OK. But he hasn't. 2 goals and 1 assist from 15 appearances. Simply not good enough for a promotion chasing side. Get rid.
I don’t like to insult players that underperform, I’m sure there’s a striker there just not at our level
Bogle’s ten year career record is there for all to see. To use horse racing parlance, he’s run up to his handicap mark playing for us.
As a human being I feel sorry for him, he is obviously upset. It's unfortunate that it hasn't worked for him at Charlton but that's professional football, if he had got lucky early on he may have been given the confidence to develop. I hope he can find a club at his level where he will be appreciated.
Grimsby. I'll concede I had my ambition levels a bit too high a month or so ago when I said Bowyer ought to be replaced in order to maximise Charlton's chances of promotion this season. Now I accept what TS says, about LB being the right man in his view, and about longer term planning. So I've reigned in my ambitions for our Club somewhat. But I'm not going to reign it back in so far that 3rd tier mediocrity is acceptable in our players. Too many of our 'summer' signings have not been good enough. And some of the better ones have fallen injured. I see nothing to be gained by giving our failed players the rest of the season. To do so would be to undermine the message of improvement and progress over the next five seasons. I'm not hearing much ambition from the camp this season. That was the hallmark of the bad old days.
The fanfare the fella was given by the club’s media team was embarrassing when we signed him. The man has never been a prolific goalscorer, but we were desperate to get bodies through the door. Hence why he was only given a one year deal
