Off Topic Olympics

Anyone thinking about getting their rocks off during the beach volleyball better not watch the Egyptian team <doh>

Our poor Olympics continues. We have a world champion in sailing - he came 17th today but can pull it back in later events. We have a world champion in canoe slalom - he's out of the medals, in fact he came last. Boxers tipped for medals but most are out. Mens gymnastics team tipped for medal but got fourth due to a **** up. Our horsey people are out of the medals for the first time in years.

What is it with our top people who fail to perform? Is it sports psychology?

Okay, hand up, who pissed in the diving pool? <laugh>
I work in the swimming pool sector, and were pissing ourselves laughing this morning. (not in the pool mind)

I'm waiting to here what the excuse they come out with, because all the pool needs is Chlorine, some bugger hasn't put any in. I bet the automatic dosing system has failed and being an outdoor pool the air temperature plus the humidity has caused an algae build up. I've seen that very same thing happen where you can have crystal clear water in the evening and come morning nice and green.

All they need to do now is dump a load of sodium hypochlorite in it, but as the pool is so deep, they will need to pump I bet around a 1000lts in the bloody thing and that might not even touch it.

Bloody shame it wasn't the main competition pool, then I would be in hospital with busted ribs through laughing so much. Our group company pulled out so supplying that pool because the organisation of the build was beyond piss poor. I know for a fact that it was touch and go to finish building that pool, because we were asked to step in to finish it and we told them we wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Brazil should never have been given the Olympics in the first place!

I've always suspected the OIC is as corrupt as FIFA. Maybe moreso.
The funny part is its governing bodies within governing bodies. The aquatics part of the games are run by FINA, we sponsored them for three years and it was a bloody nightmare. I think we paid out around 1.5m for the three years. We pulled out after the three years because we got nothing really from it.

FINA, like these big organisation bodies are bent!! We have first hand experience of this at London 2012 ;)
