Very good Plym. I'm so pleased for Tom Daley and still feeling proud this morning. What a lovely young man he is - a credit to his family, city and country.
It'll be a few hours before "the grumpy old git (your words) will be out of his bed.....and complaining about the toast crumbs in the bed making him get up early.
Oi you lot!!! I think maybe young Thomas has grown up a little bit lately and smelt a bit of humility. He did well enough considering the media build up which was way over the top. Unusually for me I went to a party l went to a party last night and they had to put the tele on so people could watch him dive. Some of the people there had been involved with his dad and his illness so had met him a number of times along with mum etc. They all said he and his family were all really nice and down to earth. Maybe I misjudged him character wise in that case but I still think there was an element of petulance about him when it came to blaming others for mistakes made. Anyway, a bronze on the biggest stage is better than a kick in the gonads. Good luck to him. All in all I still couldn't get well up for the Olympics but have to admit that team GB did well and there were some great moments. Mo the Man was the highlight for me. What a trier and what a runner.
I might have but I'm more the "You'll always find him in the kitchen at parties" type. It was fancy dress so I went as me. They all know me so I was famous at that party.
As it was a family do I did what I do best and spoke to the kids. There were a couple of delightful twin boys aged 3 there. They were the funniest thing in the house. One had a blue bear who apparantly gets the lad into trouble all the time. Only eats chocolate and hides it under his bed. Who needs Saturday night at the Oppollo when you have kids about. Bet you didn't know that Stars are infact Angels with torches and when you can't see the moon it's because he is at a party in Australia. Priceless.
