Not Saints related I know although the relay does come to the ground. Just wondered how many of you will come out and see it on July 14th/15th. I'm working on the relay ATM and was in Totnes and Exeter yesterday. Amazed by the numbers who came out. Exeter was totally rammed!

Will you be watching or does the Olympics leave you cold?

I'll be at the match to see the torch, and also out on the streets to see it - it's the nearest I'll get to see anything to do with the olympics live!!

I am really excited about the olympics, and will watch as many brits as i can - might try and get to london and watch some of the free events like the marathon.

Hi Delboy if you can't get tickets for any events you could try for a Park ticket. That will give you the atmosphere and see the events on a big screen.

If you are holding a flaming torch, then how can it leave you cold?

I like some parts of the Olympics, like the actual sport. Can't stand the bullshit surrounding it and all the middle class non-sport lovers who are only going to the games "to be seen" and have boring stories to tell at dinner parties (like my boss, who creamed in about a dozen tickets because he's well off enough to do so)

The torch relay is pretty dull though. Should liven it up "its a knockout" style and make people carry it through foam and under netting whilst wearing giant shoes.

And there was me thinking Lamballana, was ill or had been killed by a ninja or something. Then he pops this thread down to keep it a thread a day<laugh>

There was a bit of a media hoo-ha today as the Olympic Torch went out in Devon. The helpers were scurrying around in a mild panic, while the onlookers watched patiently. They then fetched one of the backup flames out of the following coach and lit a new torch before proceeding. So THE Olympic flame didn't go out, but AN Olympic Torch went out. Not that I care too much, but why must the media misreport..?

There'll be a hundred back up flames in numerous locations (not just on the coach with them) just in case.

I watched the torch arrive in Exeter and had a great day and evening with family and friends.
The kids had there picture taken with A torch, they change them as often as the runners.
In fact that has been the only part that has been a bit dull as i would have liked to have seen good distance runners going the distance (day and night) rather than keep jumping on the buses with it.
The Olympics in our Country means lots to me, like the 1966 World Cup did but i might get a chance to see another World Cup but alas not another Olympics.

I'll be at work when it comes to Basingstoke so I was pleased when Saints confirmed it will be at SMS. I'm looking forward to the games, hopefully get to see some decent basketball and football games. Will probably watch some of the shooting too.

The remaining tickets (if there are any) are going on general sale tomorrow, so if there's an event you particularly want to see, you might be able to get some (think there's loads of football tickets left).

As for the Olympic torch, I'm hoping to see it maybe although unfortunately it does not come to the home of British Aviation.
