Well you won't be able to call yourselves Tottenham Hotspur if you're not in Tottenham, will you? So you'd have to take a leaf out the MK Don's book anfd rename the club, I'd have thought.

You're simply wrong on that one. Chelsea play in Fulham as Ensil often comments upon. Is the Reebok in Bolton, is Pride Park in Derby, indeed is West Ham currently in West Ham? Stratford certainly isn't, yet West Ham will still be West Ham if they move there.

Spurs have already announced they would continue to call themselves by the same name if the club moves to Stratford.

Don't get me started on the Olympics, I applied for loads of tickets and got nish. I wanted front row seats in the 'Spot the Cameltoe' final but not a chance. Some other lucky perv will be sitting front and centre at the Beach Volleyball eyeing up super-fit tanned Californian hotties while I will have to settle watching the womens weight lifting on TV. This may be the best place to see the ladies snatch. Apparently.

I thought Taxpayers were subsidising us Scots?

It seems as if the Taxpayers are actually paying for London football stadia.

If you don't understand the situation then you really shouldn't have an opinion on it.

Prior to our OS bid we had been working for 5 years planning a new stadium in Tottenham. It took us 4 of those years and numerous redesigns of the stadium to even get planning permission. After all that the borough turn around and tell us that we have to pay over £10mill towards upgrading the surrounding stations so that they are suitable for the increased capacity, despite Arsenal having a whole new tube station built for them. Our plans already included a supermarket and hotel to boost the commercial potential in the area, yet we received no support for the stadium from the council and MP David Lammy tried to bleed extra money out of us at every stage.

Step in OPLC. With only one viable bid(West Ham's) for the Olympic Stadium, we were invited to bid for the OS by the OPLC and actively encouraged by politicians including Boris Johnson. From the start we made it clear that we would not incorporate the running track as it was not feasible for a football stadium to have fans so far away from the pitch. Despite this we were still encouraged to bid and we were only happy enough to do so as our own new stadium plans were becoming so expensive, an estimated £250mill extra would have to be spent on a new stadium in Tottenham compared to our OS bid.

To compensate for the loss of the running track we proposed that the current home of UK athletics, the Crystal Palace stadium, be renovated to a 40,000 capacity at our cost. This stadium would be available for athletics all year round, as apposed to the 20 days a year that the OS would be available for under West Ham's plans. We were not demolishing the stadium, the stadium is built to be easily adaptable and we would still be keeping £420mill worth of the £500mill stadium. The original plan for the OS was to convert(or demolish) the stadium down to a 25,000 capacity athletics stadium, which can't be achieved by simply spreading out the seats so clearly under the original plans there would be less of the stadium left. In terms of the Stratford area, in addition to the extra commerce that would be brought in by Spurs fans coming every week to watch their team, in conjunction with AEG(who saved the Dome) we would be hosting concerts and other sports events to further improve the economic potential of the area.

Our beefs were not based on losing out to West Ham, it was the manner of it. After being encouraged to bid surely the OPLC would've known from the first day that our bid would fail 3 of the 5 criteria, whilst West Ham met all 5 so why were we strung along to make a bid costing us millions to put together? And why was the decision delayed for over a month citing that extra time was needed for consideration of the two "evenly matched" bids, when the end result was 5-2? The main problems however were with West Ham's bid, they were receiving £35mill from the OPLC, an interest free loan of £40mill by Newham Council(which is illegal) and the numerous connections between the OPLC, Newham Council and West Ham. To have one of the board members of the OPLC, a previous employee of Newham council, doing contract work for West Ham whilst the bidding process was still ongiong stinks to high heaven, something that the judge agreed with us, granting a JR.

    :)

Firstly, don't post stuff like this on GC.
Secondly, don't post abusive, semi-literate ****e on the Spurs board.
    Thirdly, Gambol's right. **** off.

Edit: The f in **** won't stay as a capital, for some reason. Odd.
