Yeah, I read that too at the time. It was one of the things that actually made me turn away from the Olympics because I thought Team GB would just fail embarrassingly, in comparison to the prediction. Although I was sucked into watching from very early on, within a few days having gone by, and no Gold medals being won, I thought the disaster was unfolding as I'd felt it would. Little did I know that the prediction was quite accurate. In fact, if anything it turned out to be slightly cautious..! EDIT: I must include this for posterity: "It's not inconceivable that the Brits could fall from fourth [Beijing final position] to eighthâ Matt Favier Director, Australian Institute of Sport. Australia made tenth spot in London 2012.
An unbelievable two weeks. I'm totally shattered, these shifts knock you for 6 but all I can say is roll on the Paralympics!
