GB men 3.0 up against Pakistan in hockey. I can remember when Pakistan was a top top side and GB would have no chance. Both men and ladies doing well this Olympics.
Watch out for the Aussies. They Beat South Africa 5-0 and GB could only scrape a 2-2 draw. They are always strong in the womens too. And the Aussies need some success in these games...
I went to the hockey yesterday. Didn't understand the rules at all. Also got really sunburnt. But it was good fun and also got a good look round the Olympic Park.
I only watch international hockey, but think it is great game with lots of excitement. I hated playing it mind you...bruises and mud.
Yeah that bit is strange. From a penalty corner you either stand in the goal, or on the half way line, I know which one I'd be volunteering for. And they have three different colour cards for various different undescribed offences, with random lengths of sinbinning. Plus you can't score from outside the penalty area, unfortunately not many people in the crowd knew that one which led to a lot of confusion. Oh and there are video referrals but you are only allowed to get one wrong before you lose them. Think I've covered it all there
Pakistan have just lost an appeal because they stopped the clock but didn't ask the question. Apparently a review isn't general...you have to ask a specific question. Finished 4.1.
Girls break WR in qualifying for team pursuit. Certain gold unless they go over (which has happened).
Yeah I think they need to apologise to everybody else. They've all turned up to the Olympcs and the only medals on offer are Silver and Bronze.
What the hell happened to Anna Meares? That acceleration from Pendelton was unbelievable (in the most literal sense of the word, how the hell is speed like that possible?), but my heart was in my mouth as the Chinese was chasing her down in the straight. Incredible, because she was in no way a certainty for that. Now lets hope Becky Adlington can pull a performance out of the bag, and Ennis can keep on trucking in the Hepthathlon. Have to say, GB women are putting the men to shame a bit so far!
