He was trying flicks and backheels all night instead of sticking to basics,and his smartarse penalty tactic gave the keeper time to get across to save it.
Sturridge needs to sort his attitude on the pitch out. Great player...but he thinks he's better than he actualy is. Maybe a bit of blood to the head regarding the Istanbul comment there. Still ****ing awesome though!
Made it so obvious where he was going .. Before this competition I wouldn't mind it of we signed him, but now I feel completely different about it!
The point of a stuttering penalty run up - to see which way the keeper commits themselves and then shoot the other way. Now its important to shoot the other way otherwise you look like a numpty.
It really pisses me off to see us lose at penalties all the time, mainly because I was a penalty taker and only ever missed one, and that was only because I slipped. It is not hard, just hit it hard and low into the bottom corner, some of the penalties these pro's take are hideous.
