I know, would rather finish 2nd losing to the new record breaker though! I think China and the US are destined for 1/2nd overall. 4th for us is a really good position. We just broke a World record in womens Cycling...Only to be broken again one race later...by the commies. I mean err...China!

Women been DQ from the final, no gold or medal for them. Ruined the mood of the day for me.

What a day this has been. 3 golds and 2 silvers! Another gold for Sir Chris Hoy to equal Sir Steve Redgrave's 5 golds in Olympic Games.

Shame the Women got DQ'd otherwise we could well have had another gold!

A silver for Gemma in the Judo is massive for the sport. Funding would have been pulled without that.

Not even the legends of Starbrook, Jacks, Adams, Fairbrother et al could do any better than what she achieved today.

Congrats Miss Gibbons ... you did your country and sport proud.

PS hell of a fight in the semi....anyone who has ever done judo knows the full 5 minutes is tiring enough (after having several rounds to go earlier in the day) but that ippon in overtime ... CLASS!

I'm sure there is a lot to Judo, but I watched it today for the first time and I can honestly say, it's not the best spectator sport.

All I saw was 2 peple hold onto each other, then both fall over... and no one get's a point. Then the same thing happens and someone else gets a point (or a Yuko?! What the hell that is).

Congrats to her, as I'm sure she'd kick my ass in any fight, but it's not a sport I'm going to be paying much attention to going forward.
