I can see how a full picture may/was not available last June but how on Gods earth can it now proceed with politicians claiming the "people have spoken" and the people not knowing what they spoke about? OK at the time they may have thought they did but now surely few educated people will fail to recognise the mismatch between what they were told and what is unfolding, a second vote surely has to happen?
Trying to keep out of this discussion, but have to mention that we entered the EEC in effectively the same manner. Would we have joined if we knew there were going to be butter mountains, wine lakes, farmers paid to grow nothing, cucumbers unable to be sold because they weren't 100% straight, more & more subsidy of the ever-growing number of 'poor' nations who joined to leech rather than contribute .... and the list goes on & on. Most people would never have voted to join if they were aware of the shenanigans that were about to unfold.
Fair point and it's not for me to delve into this but... as an outsider the UK, forgive me, is irrelevant, only as part of a european voice will it have any say in the world. If it leaves who will give a flying ......
Almost every country in Europe it would seem, and we even had POTUS (Obama) over here begging us to stay in. How desperate is that? Why should it matter to the States or any other country? Do I smell self-interest - to our detriment? I honestly have no idea, but I'd love to know.
My view for what's worth is the states saw us as a way into europe, common language, similar culture, ally. Similarly other european countries probably saw the reverse benefit, as a way into the US market. I actually believe that they also see the UK in europe as a moderating influence on some of the other larger countries. It also has to remembered that in the last 100 years it could be viewed that the UK + has helped save Europe from itself. Well I like a conspiracy and my recent thoughts are that Russia doesn't like a strong Europe, it stabilises the former soviet block countries and stumps Russian influence. So Russia has a lot to gain by a fragmented Europe. Trump also seems to want a fragmented Europe, not sure why but easier to influence, dominate I suspect. Conclusion there was a perfect storm last year.
One of the biggest problems with the Brexit Remain debate is that all this discussion should have taken place Before we had a vote. Now we have all and sundry sticking their oar in, or should I say 2 pennth Ha Ha. Obama is just one of many. All this divisive talk stems from that idiot Pretty Boy Cameron misreading the whole mood of the British People. IMO This whole debate is founded on self interest, and I don't just mean within the UK. HA Ho what happened to common sense.
Unlike the **** you post its a fact. But you stick your head back in the sand and think up some more dreams.
You havent got a clue. Please share with us the data that proves your assertion that the Claimant count relates to imigrants going home. Then I will show you why you are wrong......
Many are indeed going back and unemployment is the lowest for many many years,if you want to believe its because you believe in the job fairy, then you do so,but for the rest of us,its great to know the mass unemployment you said would happen is just more **** you got wrong.Man up and admit you got everything wrong again.
I must be honest here. I really don't know what is the right thing to do. No-one does. It's guesswork on all sides. Yes, there are facts available, but they're usually drawn on selectively to boost an argument or view. For me, the EU has been responsible for such a load of nonsense, waste & expense over the years. Of course there are benefits when part of the 'in crowd', but there are penalties too, and it's the penalties that really rankle with me. One thing that really angers me is the industry they've created for translation. The EU foots the bill for this. Why? Almost everyone in Europe speaks english very well. Why do they need someone translating in their ear & every piece of paper being generated? If they want something translated, the individual countries should pay for it themselves. If this was put in place, I think the translation requirement would drop like a stone. Millions, if not billions saved. And paying farmers not to grow anything? Wow, that one really takes my breath away. Why not pay them to actually grow something & if it's not required in the EU, give it to some of the starving billions around the world?
Why can't others take such a common sense approach, rather than acting like a brick wall all the time, and that goes for both sides.
The primeminister in todays PMs questions said that cuts to benefit and the roll out of universal credit is responsible for the figures. She is right, ATOS myst make you as a tory very proud. Got **** all to do with immigration. The prits are not fruit picking or washing cars. We havent left yet and the trickle of jobs leaving the uk will be a flood soon enough.
Nar 100,000 less immigrants come in this year compaired to 2015,brits are filling the jobs they would have taken. Not sure what the prits are doing.
