I see where you are coming from but some States in the US really scare me. I worked in Mississippi for several months and all was OK until I was actually taken by my hosts to the tree where I was proudly told that this was the one where etc. I've only been back once to Mississippi since, driving through to Texas. I felt safer with the Hells Angels and drug dealers in NY.

 

I had a spell of a few months in Alabama around 1970 and that was interesting too. Lots of little incidents come to mind but I’ll not go into it here.

The plantation tour guide Actually did a good job presenting the reality of what things had been like. Ditto my visit to Monticello (Jefferson’s estate) where they made a point of 600-slave owning Jefferson writing ‘all men are equal’ etc etc

I think you are on a different point. Slavery was evil and attitudes persist to this day, sure. But over the top PC stuff like the attached article undermine attempts to get people to see it, as they are frankly ludicrous.

 

Over the top PC just devalues the true problems and emotions that are stirred up incite "opportunities" for some but don't address the issues.

 

I went for a month in 85,touring around, I bought a guide book called let's go USA, it said if your coloured some B&Bs in South Caroline might refuse you entry. But that's History and things are slowly improving and will continue to do so.

 

This wasn't that long ago, this millennia.

 

Don't think they would get away with it now, so shows that things are changing, used to work with a Jamaican, and he was forced out of a pool at gun point in the 70s in Florida. So yer relatively not so long ago.

 

In the 80s over here, Black fans were very few at Leeds, and Leeds fans would openly sing NF songs, the days when Wright and Bright played for Crystal Palace it was bad, Ian Wright was there and one of the few who have given our club and fans the credit they deserve for a massive change.

I haven't posted on here for a while but have found something that has incensed me this morning.

Dawn Butler was a passenger in a car stopped by the Police. The details have been on the news.
What I have found is that the actual footage has been flipped to make out that Dawn Butler was driving. I have found the footage from the Sun, the Independent, The Guardian and Sky News among others.
Did they all flip it or, as I suspect, did Dawn Butler release flipped footage making out she was driving.
The actual footage shows a light skinned driver so there was no racial profiling.

This is very disturbing if the MSM flipped it but truly disgusting if Dawn Butler did it.

Yes they stopped a white guy driving a car, disgusting her trying to make it a race thing.

 

The most disturbing part is that the video has been flipped. If she did it then some serious questions need to be asked of her because that is race baiting.
She is walking a very fine line.

I don't get your point. The driver is clearly light skinned if you watch the longer footage. The actual footage is apparently 8 minutes long. I'm not questioning what has been said but the first headlines from the MSM said that she was driving with a friend. Since the **** has hit the fan it's been updated.
My point is that the video footage has been flipped but by whom?

 

If that's black, I must be black.
And as you say flipped to make it look like they stopped her, instead of him.

The BBC have been crucified for the way they reported a 'racist attack' in Bristol, you may remember the gangster rapper who happened to work for the NHS was attacked by a gang of thugs after finishing a shift.

However after four arrests in connection to the attack things have gone quiet, from what I am hearing is the gangster rapper had crossed the wrong people regarding an 'alleged' drug debt and had some retribution dealt out, I'm sure the people who have donated over £33k (and rising) to his GoFundMe appeal will be pleased they have helped clear up his debts.

 

I can't find anything about this development. I do think it's odd that the MSM haven't released the names of the attackers even though they are 18. The excuse that their families may be targeted is flimsy so there must be another reason.
I think we'll have to watch this space.
