I thought the US was the United States, often called America, after the continent, for some reason. But I wasn't trying to wind them up. Just the english. By simply making a statement of fact, which is that post Brexit, the north will still be ruled by the south, which has always been a major irritant in the north. I always remember my workmate going to live & work in Manchester in the mid-80s. First visit back he reported: "Hey lads, they hate the english more than we do down there!". He then explained the north / south divide that we in Scotland were generally unaware of.
