So Poland is lowering it's retirement age to 60 using our money to do so,while we work longer so they can work less. Go on remain dicks, tell us again how the EU is great for us. What I would give to have Guy Fawkes back.
I think it's more likely t obe nothing to do with remain/brexit. A cursory look at our Government will tell you why our country has not considered lowering the pensionable age. They're tories. And they continue with their program to increase the pensionable age, whether it makes financial sense or not. Ask yourself why.
Poland was going to introduce a staggered reform to increase retirement for men to 67 in 2020 and then for women to 67 by 2040 (legislated in 2012). They reversed this decision in 2017 and so it's 65 for men and 60 for women. So it wasn't lowered and as I'm guessing you're a man it means Poland's retirement age is exactly the same as the current UK one. Go on leaving dicks try and find something a little more up to date than 2017 news and Guy Fawkes.
Not quite - officially 66 begins in September this year - so it's staggered in this year. So for example if you were born on this day in 1954 you'd retire in July this year (65 years and 4 months) - you can check here https://www.gov.uk/state-pension-age/y/age
It says 67 for me with a warning there's a review and 'might' increase it to 68. I'm basically it expecting it to be 70 for me once we've paid off the boomer generations full pension and brexit disaster
You all realise that once we've officially made the Brexit break that there will be no pensions paid to anyone by our government, don't you? It's a fact that they're no longer required to under EU legislation, so will be taking full advantage. It remains unannounced, but plans are fully in place. This is a fact & is known by all parties.
Think you've watched one too many of the fake news posts WJ,Pensions were here long before and will be here long after the EU. Even the remain loons haven't come up with that story.
Any party who had that idea would immediately lose power and never get back in again, not going to happen ever.
LOL. And that's exactly what happened with the Scottish Referendum. tory & labour party both joined forces in a programme of making phone calls to pensioners to tell them that the new Scottish Government had no plans to pay them a pension & the english Government wouldn't pay them either, meaning they would have zero income. This is a much-discussed & totally accepted fact, btw. The press was full of it & was never denied be either party. The labour leader resigned over it, claiming that the decisions were all made in england. Her replacement lasted only weeks or months (can't remember), as it became clear that he was not the innocent party he claimed to be. You're dead right about the fallout, btw. At the next General election they both lost all but 1 of their seats, allowing the SNP to win 56 out of 59 seats. No party had ever had a landslide like that before. Prior to that, the SNP's record over the years was winning 13 once. At the next election, SNPs total fell to 33 (ish), which the tories & labour trumpeted as being a disaster. Sadly for them, the SNP prior to the election had publicly stated many times that they expected 'normality' to return & they'd be thrilled if they got 10-15 seats. To say they were turning certwheels with 33 is an understatement. Sadly, wee tory ruth The Mooth made more gains than the labour. Don't be surprised if she comes to prominence in england. She makes maggie look somewhere left of Corbyn.
