At the moment more than ever I think that Europe will have to stand together over Russia considering that Trump has not exactly been the most ardent supporter of NATO and considering Trump's links with Putin.

If that's true good job we are getting out,Russia can take over Europe anytime they like if the yanks won't stop them.Only Britain has any hope of holding them off for a while and that's only because we are an Island.

How would that be financed considering America fund nearly 75% of the annual NATO income?

I've noted the dates and also the quality of the links.

The first of those videos refers to a far right party that won 10.6% of the vote. A pro EU party The Pirates also surprised people by winning 10.8%

As for the 2nd video I think this comment posted below it accurately sums it up; first of all, Babiš isn't a Czech Republic's leader, that's just bullshit. His party won 72 seats in a parliament and that does not make him a leader, nor a president, so just try and fact check your information. Second of all he never said that. What he said is that we need to make the ties stronger between the Republic and EU and ANO (yes) stands only for "yes to change". Then he got less then 30% vote. Just stop lying please.

The third video is again a computer generated voice stating opinions as facts without sources and doesn't make reference to his pro European comment in his victory speech.

The fourth video is from the ex-president who left office in 2013. He had a long history of euroscepitiscm during his presidency but as I say he left office in 2013 and his old party got 11% of the votes so I'm not sure why his calls are relevant?

That's only because American spend a crazy (and unnecessary and corrupt) amount on military funding 611 Billion last year (by comparison China were 2nd with 215 and Russia 3rd with 69).

However Russia's 69 billion is soon dwarfed if you combine the European nations budget which tops well over £200 billion

You say America are spending an unnecessary amount, but they are still funding 75% of the NATO budget, so it has to come from somewhere, and it is quite apparent that the majority of European countries are not willing to pay their share.

That's a misunderstanding of how NATO works. The actual military budget for Nato is 1.4 billion which obviously can easily be met. The principle is one of collective defense, an attack on one is an attack on all, so members are meant to keep their army to a certain standard with a suggested defence spend of 2% of GDP. But this is just a guideline and America currently spends 3.6% of its GDP on military spending.

The reason Trump maybe so keen for other countries to increase their military spending is that the US is by far the top arms exporter in the world.

Agreed the military budget is about 1.4 billion, but there are are other add ons such as SIP and civil budgets, but these only come to around another billion, but still way under. The main issue is that only 5 countries pay in the voluntary level agreed and neither France or Germany do.

Using that argument, it's exactly the same in Scotland. It's the youngsters coming through that want independence. If an Indyref 2 happens & the result is as expected, you lose a huge chunk of the 'Remain' vote.

Oh, and btw. all the arguments dreamt up to prevent a second Indyref apply to a second Brexit referendum.

I think the Indyref 2 should be held in England, that would rid us of scotland straight away.

Meanwhile, remember how the economy continued to do ok after the referendum, because consumers carried on borrowing? Well ...... not for ever .....

We Scots would be thrilled to bits if that happened. But it was the combined efforts of Labour & the tories that prevented a positive vote. They'd do the same for an english referendum, sadly. And lets not kid ourselves, it's purely for financial reasons, despite what they declare from the moral high ground.

I take no side of this Brexit debate, mainly as my standpoint is that I'm no Economis, Finance Whiz, or Clairvoyant, and ave no read clue as to what's best for us all. I simply read through to see if I can learn anything. Still waiting for that, right enough.

But I must give credit where credit is due. As you've prolly picked up over the years, I absolutely hate opinion being presented as fact, and was really entertained to read your debunking of LL's nonsense. I love a truth-seeker, and doff my cap to you, sir! If only people would be honest in this discussion instead of presenting all sorts of unchecked shiite as fact.
