fancy a weekend in dublin......well don't bother booking at the 4* holiday inn at dublin airport which was only opened last july and is now closed to the general public....lack of customers..nope..salmonella outbreak..nope..no staff nope..it's just signed up an "exclusive contract" with the irish govt to house asylum seekers in it's 421 bedroom establishment the international protection accommodation service(more cushy jobs) the country's body for re housing asylums already has six more establishments in the capital with a recent tender worth 50million euros run by the state to find more accomodation.......someone is making big money out of all this and they don't want it to stop....sometime in the future the maps of the world will have to be redone because western europe will no longer be here

What a pathetic country we’ve become It can be credibly argued that Britain's security services have never faced a more serious array of threats than they do today. Europe teetering on the brink of war as Russian tanks rumble into Ukraine. China menacingly flexing its muscles. Hostile regimes relentlessly engaged in espionage and cyber warfare. And terrorists planning atrocities on our streets. No wonder the head of MI5 grimly told the Mail that our entire way of life is in peril. Terrifyingly, not all our spymasters have a laser-like focus on defending the country. While our enemies plot, national security adviser Sir Stephen Lovegrove is obsessed with Britain's undercover agents raising their game on inclusivity and diversity. This preposterous mandarin wants spies educated in dubious academic ideologies such as 'white privilege', while declaring their gender pronouns. Equally bizarre, he says words such as 'strong' and 'grip' should be avoided, claiming they reinforce masculine stereotypes. Leave aside that such a view is profoundly chauvinistic itself (can a woman not be 'strong' or have 'grip'?). It is insane that at a time of grave international danger, with UK interests and lives at risk, some of our security chiefs are fixated on garbled wokery. Such indulgent introspection only weakens Britain – and strengthens our enemies.
Think only 5% of our energy supply comes from Russia, but I get your point Ristac. Time we became more self sufficient. Start fracking, open up coal mines etc. Scrap the net zero madness and get rid of the 25% green levy on energy bills which everyone is forced to pay.
Not to worry, some one will be along in a while saying it's just the government conning us and it's not really happening.
Have you seen the u.s. military advertising campaign to try and entice new recruits, go take a look and it will explain why the west is where it is now and as you rightly pointed out we are in the same boat....oh and look at the Russian advert in comparison
Putin doesn't care. It's all very well saying oh what a naughty boy he is and slapping him on the hand with some sanctions. You need to gang up on the bully and take him and his military out.
