I just can't see Oli playing for us again.
He'll be got fit and the sent out on loan.

He played 19 games for us and was dropped during our relegation struggle in the BPL. Not due to lack of foorm.
Must be something to do with 20 games in his contract.

He was then farmed out to Cardiff and played 42 games, now back with us.
I don't think he will be allowed to play his 20th game for us.

Chinese Whispers at full tilt, why do people make up this 5h1t ? At the end of the season (he played with a knee problem for Cardiff) he was told by Pearson to get his Knee op sorted and " THAT" is why he is coming back.

    Where's the difficulty?

EDIT: Even if we hadn't already got a contract sorted, as OLM has pointed out, why would it be a problem?

Exactly. Who ever heard of an injured player in the club's plans not being given a squad number? Come on, think about it.

Erm, because he's not contracted to us. We might as well give a squad number to James Beattie then. Yes I know it wouldnt break any rules but it might have been a bit embarrassing if we gave him a squad number and then he turned round and then said screw you.

Oli played his last game for Cardiff in their play-off semi-final and returned to us on 23rd May which is just over 26weeks ago (approx 6.5 months) and HDM say he is; "harbouring hopes of returning within the month".
I don't think its over the top to wonder why one of our players could be out for 7.5 months for an injury that wasn't severe enough to stop him playing football at Cardiff.

Someone in Lagos has stuck pins in the knees of an effigy of him and keep doing so, that's what's keeping him out.

Actually, that sounds more likely than some of the other suggestions on here. <laugh>

You've completely missed my point. You suggested that because Oli doesn't have a squad number there may be some dodgy circumstances, I said the squad number thing means nothing because Garcia also has no number and the club have said a few times that he will be given a contract (and have now agreed one according to OLM). I also explained that the numbers 29 and 30 that have been left free are probably for the two injured lads when they come back, I'm not suggesting we have formally given them numbers, just that the numbers have been set aside for them. I have a mate working at the club who pretty much confirmed this to me a while ago.

Garcia might not be contracted to us but he'll still be registered as our player and won't be allowed to move until January, so no he isn't really a free agent he's just registered on non-contract terms (but will soon have a contract anyway).

You seem to be ignoring the fact that upon his return from Cardiff, he had surgery on his knee and it's that he's had to recover from.

I've been told from a very unreliable source that after his knee op Oli went to recuperate in Bermuda and has just disappeared

I understand that and I'm not making a statement. I'm actually just asking whether anyone knows more about it. I don't know what the recovery time is from surgery for that type of thing, it just seems like he's been out for ages and the info we're getting from the club is both vague and random in that his expected recovery date is constantly changing.

I'm not sure exactly what surgery had(not it would tell me much if I did know), but the Fail did describe it as 'serious' at the time, though it would seem to have been more serious than they thought, as you say, he was supposed to be back over a month ago. He is training, just not contact training, so I'm still not setting much stall by the conspiracy theories.

Oli was only out for 'around a month' at the start of the season.
I see no reason for the club to lie about injuries so are our physios just ****?

He may not be progressing as well as the physio's hoped, or he could be suffering set backs, we do not know

indeed that could be also true. i expect Oli to be back soon and with a squad number. he can have harpers soon. lol. no other club will pay Oli's wages so city may as well keep him and use him off the bench at the very least. NB will do whats best.

Not wanting to worry people too much, but isn't that twice as long as Bullard was always out for? Does that mean his injury problems are twice as bad as Bullard's?
