Well if it's done it's done, he's not one of the choices that will get me on the phone for Birmingham tickets though.
Some of you lot are ****ing priceless! We have had no confirmation as yet and you lot are sticking the knives in already! If we signed Jose Mourihno some of you would still find fault!
I want to be excited to go to a game Warky, it doesn't matter what bloody division we're in if it's Groundhog Day. This appointment is more of the same. More quick fixes.
In case it has escaped your notice Yorkie we are sat rock bottom of the league and 5 points off safety and it will take a huge amount of hard work to escape this as it is! So yes a short term fix is required due to the nature of the situation that we face! I am all for a 3-5 year plan and knowing McCarthy that will begin to take shape once we avoid the drop. We have no time for grandiose schemes at the moment as it all boils down to a fight for survival. Lets just take it as it comes and solve one problem before we start worrying about the next!
unfortunately, it shows what kind of condition our club is now in. Supporters looking for faults with each other (same as the players really). This maybe easy for me to say (as the only person I really didn't want was Shearer) but whoever the new manager is, lets get behind him & the team & hopefully (baby steps) the club will start going the right way
McCarthy is not keeping us up this season. We'll be dead and buried before the transfer window opens.
Well with that attitude Yorkie why don't you start supporting a team more local to you like Leeds! I'm sure that they would welcome your positivity!
I think an awful lot of damage has been done in the last month, that's all, I wouldn't put money on us staying up. Realism not negativity.
MM has an average record when you compare it with Paul Jewell.... In fact the similarities between the two are striking. I think you need to see that the sun does not shine out of Mick McCarthy's arse...
End of the day you are entitled to your opinions even if they don't stack up! The main thing is that we all get behind the new manager whoever it is so long as its Mick McCarthy!
I'm sure I'd be in a good mood if I'd just won £2k, but I think in 6 months time you'll gladly have handed it back. Do you really think all the problems of the last five years will evaporate with this appointment? What do you see happening in the next few years?
I will be donating the 2K IF it happens to Macmillan Cancer Care. Of course the problems will not suddenly evaporate but you can say that about any manager that is appointed! The problems we have run too deep and it will take a serious amount of hard work and a fair bit of luck to turn the ITFC ship around. We all know that and I am not pretending that McCarthy will solve every problem straight away. What I am saying is that out of all the managers available, Mick is the best equipped in terms of tactical knowledge, football know how, understanding of the transfer market in regards to picking up quality bargains, man management style and above all demanding 100% effort from each player at all times. He will sort out this dressing room make no mistake! The first objective is survival and by the end of the season he will have formulated a plan for progression year on year. Lets just get behind the bloke and give him a chance to deliver as I know he certainly will.
Either would be great. MM would be a no nonsense, unspectacular appointment. Got good contacts in the game and could attract some decent players. Same can be said for Holloway but I think he would bring more of a fun, yet serious environment. He seems full of jokes but also looks like the type who can really rip into someone. Which players that the two have previously managed would you like to see brought to Ipswich?
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake Wayne Hennessey George Elokobi Michael Kightley Tom Ince Matt Phillips Gary Taylor-Fletcher Keith Southern
Tom Ince screams out of that list. What a player. I wouldn't turn my nose up at Charlie Adam or Matt Jarvis either. What is Jody Cradock up to these days?
