Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to leave the club after Saturday's 4-1 defeat by Watford.

There has been no official confirmation but it is understood all the club's senior figures, including owners the Glazers, have discussed his future.

It was decided the Watford loss would be Solskjaer's last game in charge and the terms for his exit would be agreed.

Technical director Darren Fletcher is set to take over for Tuesday's Champions League trip to Villarreal.

It is possible first-team coach Michael Carrick could remain at Old Trafford despite being part of a management team responsible for a terrible run of results during which United have won just four of their last 13 games and two of their last eight.

Edit...Done one.
Now at Ringway with a bulging suitcase containing £50 notes. Glass of champers in one hand, huge smile on face. Just won the lotto.

It started going tits up when they brought Pogba back.
They didn't need Sancho and made a big mistake in not getting rid of Pogba and replacing him with Bellingham instead of Sancho.

Gutted. They might get a manager who knows what he’s doing now. I was enjoying their calamity.

Even with a new manager, they’ll still have Captain Slabhead at the back <laugh>

I've no problem with Man Utd the club, in fact I've a bit of a soft spot for them as I was a big fan in the 80s - Captain Marvel, Sparky, Normal Whiteside, Jesper Olsen, Gordon Strachan, Kevin Moran.

I do have a big problem with the entitled fans who've only ever known the success of the Ferguson era. Like Arsenal post-Wenger, I think the clubs basically have to get a bit **** for a while and then rebuild with a different culture. United have been through this before with Busby, you'd think people would put 2 and 2 together and learn. Busby lurked around all through the 70s as a director, being a "presence", just as SAF is doing now. It doesn't help the club move forward.

It started going tits up the moment Fergie left them .. same as Arsenal when Wenger went
Well Fergie recommended Moyes and I think he's the one they should have given more time, proven at Everton and proving himself again at West Ham, the rest have all been ****, however I do find it amusing they've gone tits up.

They missed a trick when Pochetino was released by Spurs, Olly was never the man for the job, but they confused playing history with managerial ability, tbh I don't particularly give a fk, they ain't at City so tough ****, welcome to the real world of.losing a few
