The boys who banged in the goals last night had an average age of 32! Amazing eh! I seem to remember a time when footballers were hanging up their boots before 30!

Apart from Ashley Cole, I don't think anyone considers them over the hill. And Ashley Cole , to be fair, is my personal least favourite , so I'm more than tough on him.
But can they do it game after game, 3 times a week at that level ??? I doubt it.
Should we expect them to ?? NO.
Should we use them more cleverly, rest them, sub them, get the best from them ?? YES
Will they go along with this ??. NO. They are all living in the past and protecting their own nests at the expense of the club. They were all excellent last night but it left me with a bad taste . They could have been doing this weeks ago except for their selfishness.
Now I hope they make me eat my words.
