Just had a look on the FL show, it's 53:48 if you are interested - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01mm20v/The_Football_League_Show_2012_2013_01_09_2012/. Not quite sure what your boy has done wrong there, and it does appear to be the wrong Oldham man!
I'm sure that 'Appy will sort things out, Dev We should have another new debutant playing Tuesday evening, in Josh Thompson from Celtic. Wonder if MA will take the Cup match seriously, or will bring in the Academy kids, to rest the first team for next weekend's trip to Crawley ?
This is an interesting view on Saturday's game - worth a read and to see whether or not anyone agrees with it. http://www.footballcourier.com/news/story/1458189/welcome-to-the-non-football-league/full_story.html
I agree with it in the sense that it proves my post #2 in this thread right. All and sundry at Pompey appeared to underestimate Oldham and, indeed, League 1
Excellent article you found there 3rd eye. You could see that Dickov had his team playing to his/their strengths, in niggly fouls, shirt pulling, shoving players, goading, time wasting, etc., etc. Jordan Obita showed his inexperience against the "man mountain" centre halves, and paid the price. Dickov must be a proud man having put together a team of players in his own image.
Steve Cotterill was trying to build a very physical team - weren't all his recruits at least 6' 2" - and he had more experience in leagues 1 & 2 - that explains a lot now.
