Apparently when players asked each other ‘who’s the hardest you’ve played against’ back then the stock answer was ‘what, you mean after Mick Harford?’ He was a mate of our friend Mark Dennis at Birmingham, they and a few others like Pat van den Hauwe and Tony Coton would go out on the town and look for fights.
