Put up a poll.

They've got no chance mate they're not good enough and have an injury and fatigue issue before Xmas. It's only going to get worse.

We're currently 4 pts off the top 4. Other teams have shown that they are quite capable of going on a bad run. Brighton, Spurs, City, even United are struggling against top opposition, despite being consistent against lesser teams. We've done well to remain in the mix despite the difficult fixture schedule with injuries.

Our next 3 games in the league are Fulham (H), Luton (A), Forest (H).

After this we have a difficult January with Liverpool (A), City (H) and Villa (A), but after this, our schedule in the league is as follows.... (Consider that we may well be facing this fixture run without European concerns, but even if we are still in Europe in some way, the fixtures wont be as congested as they were at the beginning of the season and we'll have numerous players back from injury.

So essentially considering less fixture congestion and a stronger squad, and the fact that we're still not that far away from top 4 as it is, I still think we're in for a good shout at possible top 4, if not then a strong 5th place finish.

At the moment we're on a run of 3 wins and 2 losses, those 3 wins were Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea.

Spurs haven't won in 5, City haven't won in 4.

Brighton have won 2 in their last 9 games, and that was against Forest and a weakened Brentford side who were winning until Mbeumo was injured.

It's all gonna be fine. Relax.

Villa are at home against lfc just fyi

We beat them 3-0 at Anfield earlier in season.

These lot won't accept Newcastle aren't good enough to finish top 6 until mathematics can assist the people telling them and unfortunately then they'll say hindsight was required.

The cheek of it sometimes.

Pretty sure we are getting relegated and selling all our best players tbf.

Didn't see that option so plumped for 6th as a second choice.

We actually did sell our players and get relegated mind.

We did, although it was relegation and then sell our best players last time, I'll be apoplectic if the Saudi's sell our first string XI and we get relegated because of it!

:emoticon-0121-angry

When then sold gazza waddle and Beardsley was our finest example.

They’re not good enough? The fans? Them? Positively ****ing off into hysteria when we lose a game? Doesn’t come to games? Mackem?????!

Convinced is difficult as it could change in the blink of an eye. But I went for 6th, on the basis Villa are better and Man U get better results. Spurs aren't all that, Brighton are starting to fade a little, top 3 takes care of itself so we've got a decent chance of finishing 6th.

But that 6th place is dependent on if we get investment, to a Jan '22 level and then some. None of this fart-arsing around with grafting English backup players; we need high end, quality players who can come in and make their mark as Trippier and Bruno G did back then. We need a sparkling right winger in the Doku/Bailey/Diaby/Garnacho mould. We need a solid CB in the Botman/Gvardiol/Dias mould. And we need a quality left back in the Hernandez/Di Marco mould. Just go out and spend the money, hit the rest of season hard and push for 5th+.

If it's yet another window where we aim for the likes of Harrison Ashby, Harvey Barnes and Lewis Hall then I'll be dumbfounded.

Should have just kept max and spent the Barnes money on a cb. I think Newcastle and Howe will be after Maguire or maybe Anderson who's a decent cb.
