I started watching Rangers around the same time as sb....early 70s. What a team we had by the mid 70s!! Every one of them a legend for me.
On ability, Adel should get in among the legends, along with quite a few others including Les, Currie and quite a few more. Agree that none of the other present players are legends but agree with swords that the Hills and Derrys are legends based on their attitude alone. A complex question really when you start to think about it.

In this team I like Adel, but the only player I have any form of connection with is Clint Hill. Always performs to his max, which is all I ever ask from an R. But legendary status, no, I'm afraid not.

The team of 92/93 are my heros and legends. That I still can name our starting eleven twenty years on tells me that. What a team and manager.

For me the all time Rangers player has to be Bowles though. From what I've read and seen footage of there is no one touching him, you who were so lucky to see him live I salute you. A personal hero is Gerry Francis, if I was around in those days my guess would be that he would have been my favourite player.

No need to salute us old 'uns Norway. We just happened to be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time where Rangers (and England) were concerned.

As for Gerry Francis, I met him as a fan at the London clubs' 5-a-sides at Wembley Arena one year (about 68 or 69 I think). I was about 15 and him 17 maybe. I was there to watch some of the Rangers first team take on the other clubs. He wasn't a player yet - still a junior there just to push the kit basket around! He was desperate to talk to anyone - and I happened to be the nearest. He was irritating me with his questions. I just wanted to talk to the proper players!! About a year later, he was one of them. Imagine that. Absolutely no foresight, me. Doh!!

This fixture turned our season in '94 when we were in the sh*ts (not as much as we're in now, granted). We did Villa 2-0 that day in what proved to be Francis' penultimate game in charge. We then went on to beat Liverpool on Halloween night after which he resigned.

Another 2-0 over Villa? Bring it on.
