It was a good performance but it was with the caveat that we had no striker and an extra midfielder.

I do wish Frimpong got to the byline more often rather than failing to find the one or two players we had in the penalty area.

Strange game that. I've been vocal about Slot and can't say I've changed my mind but I have to consider that if we can play like that consistently and if he can make tactical changes like in that 2nd half there may be some hope for him.
If we'd had a striker we'd have won it. Doesn't excuse the poor performances and strange tactics from other games but it's food for thought.

so we struggle against the more defensive teams - and play well against the more attacking teams. We will never get better unless Slot takes more risk. He’s completely failed to find the right balance with the players at his disposal, leading to piss poor pressing and slow build up play. We have all witnessed the value of a high press and moving the ball quickly over the last few years - that’s all gone because he’s scared of conceding (understandably). So frustrating.

Who the **** is that slap-headed twatwad on SkySports now defending Martinelli on the basis that Bradley "Rolled back onto the pitch and beat his hands on the floor like they always do nowadays, and that got him frustrated". ****ehawk.

1) he didn't roll back onto the pitch.

2) Martinelli is precisely the type of player you're talking about in that respect.

****er.

Edit - Dean Ashton. So a double twatwad. :emoticon-0121-angry

Would love to see Chiesa get a goal or two tonight, more for him than for the team. I think we'll win anyway, but would just like to see him have some reward on a rare start.
