I think this is down to one's outlook. I don't really feel it will inevitably get worse - obviously I could be wrong, but I don't see the point in fretting over something that hasn't happened yet.
As one of the more positive ones on here I must admit there wasn't much to be positive about in that game, however I think the overall trend over the last few weeks has been one of (admittedly slow) improvement.
Wirtz is getting there, Frimpong looks lively, and Ekitike is fairly consistent.
The defence has improved, a bit, but is still some way off - fresh blood is needed. The most worrying thing for me is the frequent drop-off in the second half. This is an attitude thing, and I'm at a loss to think of a reason for it.

On a different note, the problem for us is the number of teams that set out to stifle, rather than take us on. It's probably only us, City and Arsenal that come up against this so often. At the moment they're dealing with it better than we are. Opening up a stubborn defence has always been difficult, and frequently leads to a frustrating game.

we (you and i….and others) started the year saying that we need to patient. I’ve lost patience with the performances (not the results, although disappointing). The performances (of the team) are very concerning for me…..nothing at all positive other than the occasional individual performance…..I do not see a style of play or improvements at all. I see lots of excuses. The next half dozen games or so will tell us more. I fear the Wirtz.

Everyone else will fear the Wirtz.
Eventually. :)

He need to go down to get it is the general consensus amongst ex pros - I hate that but it’s the way the game is officiated and we need to be smarter if so.
I hate diving and I really don't want to encourage it. I'd rather the refs - and particularly VAR - get hounded until they sort themselves out.
It was something a ref might miss because of his angle of view, but VAR has no excuse. Utterly incompetent.

I agree with the sentiment. But it would have offered us 3 points vs Leeds and a 5 point cushion to 4th…….so until they do sort it out, go down….i would not consider, in that particular instance, it diving.

I get what you're saying, but I just can't bring myself to accept it.
It really pisses me off when pundits come out with the "he felt contact so he's entitled to go down" ****e.
Though I agree the amount of contact was just ridiculous, and it would be no surprise if he's gone down, I still blame the officials 100%.
They're either brain-dead or corrupt - I can no longer decide which, tbh

My general impression is that we're generally poor (even more poor) when playing away in London, so two London fixtures in a row doesn't fill me with joy.

The amount of manhandling in the box generally has become ridiculous. It's more like rugby. League or Union! What constitutes a foul seems entirely arbitrary.
