4 games in the PL tonight, 4 draws, 3 of them 0-0 and only 2 goals as in 360+minutes of footy.
Tbf this is where we miss prime Matip and his surging runs. Teams let Konate have posession because they know he's no danger. It's why Klopp liked Quansah.

Love your optimism…..I wish I felt the same way, I can normally see the positives in change but not this year. My expectations are much higher, even in transition…..I did not expect to win the league mind.
We’ve drawn against teams that we should be dispatching and looked completely one dimensional even when winning. In your mentioned unbeaten run, we’ve beaten very poor teams in Wolves, Spurs (just) and Brighton who had plenty of chances. We’ve also drawn twice with Leeds and also with Sunderland - both newly promoted teams.
Had we looked fluid and positive in those games, I can live with it. We did not, far from it; it’s the worst football that I’ve seen us play since Hodgson….maybe worse.
That’s the reality of where we are. Slot has given up on fast attacking, aggressive pressing football because we leave ourselves wide open……I believe because the coaches are incapable of setting the team up like Klopp and his team did. I suspect the next few league games, reality will bite. We have some tough games in the next half dozen games or so.
Looking back, the win at home against Madrid might possibly be the last throws of the Klopp era, when we were brave and pressed like a team and really defended from the front.
Feel free to rub in my face if I’m proved wrong. I want to be wrong. I really do.

Games are getting tougher and tougher, after Fulham is Arsenal. After dismissals performance against Leeds United we are facing two London clubs one after another. Our next five league games as follows:1. Sunday 4th January Fulham away.
2.Thursday 8th January Arsenal away
3.Saturday 17th January , home to Burnley
4,Saturday 24th January away to Bournemouth
5.Saturday 31 January home to Newcastle.
After Fulham game can we still be 4th in the league?, better still, after Newcastle game can we still occupy the 4the position in the league?.

Ekitike is our only CF and new to PL if we continue to play him for 90 mins every game his form will inevitably drop
I called it in the summer, mate.
Next to no changes when Slot arrived when everyone expected a transition season but, in reality, it was continuation. There was very little expectation or pressure.
When we spent money and saw a lot of changes this the summer, I said this will put a lot of pressure on Slot to perform. This is his team now and it'll be different going forward. As a result, my expectation dropped; I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was but we've improved over the last few weeks we currently around the level (results wise) I was anticipating.
I'm not talking about performances here, just results.

I think the issue is that it feels like the results aren't sustainable, a bit like when Bajcetic was a solution to our midfield problems in 2023 before the sheer amount of game time led to an inevitable injury.
There were a few who urged caution and that it would not be straight forward. I told my lad that it won’t be an easy season when changing so much and mentioned it many times on here…so I was also one of them!!
So for me, it’s not that we’ve had a few bad results, it’s that we are playing boring, turgid football and are clearly not fit or coached in a world class way, they are a bare minimum for me….I expect more, despite accepting that we will take time to blend.
I think the difference between us is that you would give Slot time because he is, after all, changing everything…..and that’s fair enough tbh. Whereas, I’ve seen enough to think that it’s beyond him at this level. I do not want this to be our style of football going forward. I restate that I’m happy to be proven wrong. I’ve been wrong plenty, we all have
The only game that I’ve been happy about that I recall was the Madrid at home game…..when we played like a Klopp team, with an aggressive press; before then (remember the late winners in the first 5 games) and since then, we’ve been completely out of sorts imo and look very, very poor. Clueless, actually.
I think this is down to one's outlook. I don't really feel it will inevitably get worse - obviously I could be wrong, but I don't see the point in fretting over something that hasn't happened yet.
As one of the more positive ones on here I must admit there wasn't much to be positive about in that game, however I think the overall trend over the last few weeks has been one of (admittedly slow) improvement.
Wirtz is getting there, Frimpong looks lively, and Ekitike is fairly consistent.
The defence has improved, a bit, but is still some way off - fresh blood is needed. The most worrying thing for me is the frequent drop-off in the second half. This is an attitude thing, and I'm at a loss to think of a reason for it.
On a different note, the problem for us is the number of teams that set out to stifle, rather than take us on. It's probably only us, City and Arsenal that come up against this so often. At the moment they're dealing with it better than we are. Opening up a stubborn defence has always been difficult, and frequently leads to a frustrating game.
