I know, but you still have a 'normal' celebration for the goal. Nobody is expecting the players to stop while every single goal is checked.but you do as all goals are checked by VAR

my normal reaction is to start celebrating and then hesitating waiting for any delay.I know, but you still have a 'normal' celebration for the goal. Nobody is expecting the players to stop while every single goal is checked.
It's an abomination.my normal reaction is to start celebrating and then hesitating waiting for any delay.

Anyone going to claim Michael Oliver isn't either a Man City fan or on their payroll?![]()
He sort of is if you count the all expenses paid trips to Abu Dhabi to referee over there that he takes. I can't confirm it but he has reportedly been paid £20,000.https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdEda9Tk/

Yeah he's a Newkie fan, which is bad enough as literally every game he refs impacts on his club. Not to mention what might happen during the season, ie someone buys Newcastles star striker, takes it out on said club for the rest of the season cause the transfer happened in slightly controversial circumstances. He supposedly a Newcastle fan.
Apparently there's such a thing as the Key Match Incidents panel and they've said the goal should have stood. Doesn't mean anything really as nothing will be done about it. Nothing happened after the VAR shambles with the Luis Diaz disallowed goal. The audio releases both times shows how unprofessional they are in communicating with each other and it just amplifies the fact that they don't want to go against their 'mates'.
I don't know what happened to Oliver. At one point he was a very good referee and then turned into one of the worst. I couldn't even name one referee now who I think is anywhere near the standard they should be at. The game has moved a long way in terms of speed, skill and athleticism of the players, the referees just haven't been able to keep up.Oliver seems to have some sort of protected status: after the Virgil/Prickford incident, when the whole world and his wife knew that Oliver had ****ed up re the rules of Serious Foul Play, they just wouldn't respond to any questions by either LFC or Sky afterwards. It took nearly 3 months for Oliver to let out in an interview with The S*n (the PGMOL's paper of choice) that, "Er, yes, perhaps, we may have got the procedure with VAR mixed up". My ****ing arse - even a park referee knows that under SFP you can be sent off at any time, regardless of whether Virgil was offside or not. And he can't claim he didn't see the incident, because in the same interview, he said he would have given a penalty for the tackle, had Coote not (rightly) said Virgil was offside. So we're left with two options:
1) He saw the incident, but didn't think it was SFP
2) He knew it was SFP, but didn't know he could still send Prickford off, even though Virgil was offside.
Either way, he's not fit to referee in the National League, let alone the Prem. But the most infuriating aspect of Oliver is this: he's like royalty - never explain.
Despise the twat.
