We just have to be smart now, we have 2 players on a yellow, don’t give the ref any reason to make it into a red
It was a **** challenge, not quite a red though. It's the Geordie's fault though, they've got themselves too worked up and not thinking clearly.
Btw should have been a second yellow. Hooper by not giving the clear yellow failed to control the game and Gordon being Gordon took the liberty to keep on going. Hooper is lucky vvd.doesnt have a broken ankle.or ripped ligaments
Thought we generally did well out of possesion. Still pretty rusty in possession but we're 1-0 up so no complaints.
If you look at it again, Gordon lined up VVD from a distance, high tackle , off feet out of control and made contact with the leg, what bit do you think wasn’t deserving of a red card
Oh no!!!!! Tragedy. The missus left the milk out and its split in my tea. Oh well quick var and thats sorted
Silver lining for Newcastle of course though is that if it had to happen- getting a red right before half time means they have a chance to work out a strategy and plan around it for the 2nd half.
We have the advantage of playing Newcastle when they are one man down. We need to score more goals to kill the game off.
I hope the ref doesn't feel like he has to "even things up" by giving harsher judgements against us until it's 10v10... although I don't think refs are quite as bad as they were a decade ago for that kind of thing.
Lol he must be barmy Gordon he gets players sent off enough, they were dominating then that wonder goal like Tommy watson's at Wembley! Burn could be off next got 1-3 bet.
Awful first half from Hooper - lets too much go so inevitably there is either a serious injury, a red card, or both. Take control of a grudge match from the start, take no nonsense and don't shirk your responsibility to protect players from reckless challenges. Utter crap from him the whole time. Btw, I said we'll score the first goal 2 minutes before we did. The game just had that feel to it, completely up against it and a goal against the run of play seems to happen so often when it's like that.
