I've been saying it from the start, just not impressed. I keep hoping things will change and we'll see a team who are able to change tactically and overcome problems with formation changes and tweaks to playing style. But I'll tell you this now, if we are still behind with 20 minutes to go it'll be throw all the forwards on as usual.
Said many times, you didnt need him, waste of money. Ekitike looks ****ing mint....I know he is out at the moment, but that guy is your main guy....****ing around with Isak will only hamper Ekitike.....bad move imo.
When you are behind but playing like you are ahead and not risking the ball you have to ask why? All I have seen this season is salah run in a little circle infield a bit and run around not really getting close to either the cb or the lb. He is a black hole in the press. If szoboszlai is 10 and pressing a cb then theres no midfielders covering their 6 or getting close.. the 4 half go and its an easy ball to the midfield to basically run the length of the park. Everything.we have it Bradley runs perpendicular to the touchline straight into midfield so narrow he is always covered by one player. Who can just stand in front of konate and shut the lane. If you watch them the cb always has his full back pass option and then the cm as well. We are denying ourselves a passing option while then ending up really deep so they have every space to cover. What I am seeing is gravenberch is running into a space covering salahs no press and as a 6 he is miles out of palce and thats directly where the goal comes from. We have had 2 really good chances. Salah cross to isak Gakpo cut back to szoboszlai who back passes it rather than hits it. Wirtz is working out at ht. Could slot go for wirtz and move szoboszlai to rb?
I disagree, they could play together. Having 2 strikers is a basic requirement. It's how we are set up to play that is the issue. Both our full backs should be pushing on and driving the opposition back which in turn will give us control of the middle of the park.
Simple though isn't it, play into Salah with Bradley overlapping and Salah will have space or be 1 on 1 with his man. We keep giving him the ball when he's doubled up on.
He's underlapping in his own half. If salah ever gets the ball he's not really got a lot to go to as Bradley is still in the midfield traffic. What's really happing is salah gets pulled and dragged and at best puts it back where it came from. If Bradley would stay wide and run up maybe he would get a pass but I'd be willing to bet he doesn't isn't to run up as he's already playing v 2 ad salah never covers any lb run. Ever. Bradley has been 2 v 1 all game.
I like Bradley and it's clearly tactical, no full back wants to run into midfield all the time, it's an option and it should be used at the right times but Slot clearly wants him doing that. It's ****ing stupid.

Salah should have gone wide on that cb and taken him on. Cutting in and ending up leaning back after ignoring everyone's runs.
