First set of boots - cork studs. Nailed in. Boots up to your ankles. No such thing as replica shirts. BT told me all this.
Nail in studs (forced to play rugby at school ) were just being fazed out for football and the moulded plastic one-piece sole/stud became the everyday choice for those with less wealthy parents. Then I watched a boy's club team mate screwing individual studs into his boots with a spanner - I thought he was someone from Star Trek..........
My first boots were moulded. Dreamed of screw in studs for years. Ally studs and from october on the longer the better.
