While i get what you mean i also believe there is just as much chance rangers will slip up to a wee team. Both Celtic and Rangers have lost twice to teams outwith the old firm in the league this season - and celtic have played two more games! So we've only lost twice in 27 games to a wee team. We've only 10 games left v wee teams what makes you think we'll lose more against them than you lot? I believe it more likely rangers will slip up to be honest! I know you've had a couple of convincing home wins - but your squad is now even more threadbare and running on empty. The two more Euro games i think will be key - i can see rangers losing at least 1 league game in the next few weeks off the back of those games given the injuries. You have no forwards fit at the minute (healy doesnt count as he's so fat being not injured still doesnt qualify him as fit) Jelavic is a doubt for the league cup - so i can see rangers struggling in the next few weeks Your saving grace will be that we too could slip up. NOws the time for lenny to make sure the players know that if we win every game this month the treble is very much on the cards
I think the Ref has alot to answer for. Everyone goes on about the lad diouf but in reality he did nothing wrong all game. he went looking for a drink and chav boy felt the need to confront him. dont know what happened at the end right enough, probably got booked for being diouf. the lad whitteker's 1st yellow card was a joke. never in a million years is that a yellow. he just reacted to the crowd on that 1. bugherra's 1st tackle was a nasty one but his second 1 was a great tackle! it was a throw in not a yellow card. rangers were never going to win with all their injuries (8 was it?) so they did well to make a game of it. remember the referee stopped play when edu hurt his head? why didnt he stop it when the left back (papic?) was unconcious on the goal line?
What a game! Those of you that live in the Glasgow area, can you enlighten me to what the atmosphere would have been like on the streets after the game? That is one derby I would love to go to
With Jelavic, Lafferty, Weiss and Naismith all out injured, Rangers were never going to provide any sort of threat and so it turned out. The management can't have any faith in Healy at all as he was never used. Diouf is clearly a psycho (not that we didn't know that before), and I'm amazed that: i) he wasn't hooked at half-time ii) he made it till after full-time before he got his red card Bougherra is becoming increasingly erratic and has looked as if he's been trying to get himself sent off in a few matches recently. I find the lack of discipline in the Rangers team very worrying. With our threadbare squad and current injury problems, we really can't afford to lose players through avoidable suspensions. Luckily this was a cup game so it won't impact on the league, but it doesn't augur well for the future.
The streets are fine after word each set of fans gets herded down different roads and by the time they get towards the city centre folks have calmed down. Most fans of both sides will just be heading with there pals to their own watering holes or home and the arseholes that cause most the trouble afterwords aren't the guys at the game.
I cannot believe they threw Bartley up front and left Healy on the bench. It was a one-off cup game and they send a CB to play CF instead of a striker! What was Walter thinking? Or was it Ally?
Someone asked me this morning why the game wasn't stopped for the head injury - seriously, do we actually advocate that a player stopping the ball from going in with his head should then be afforded the luxury of having the game stopped so that the rebound is not up for grabs?
says a lot for what walter thinks of him really!!! I dunno why they signed him or that Kerkhar lad. 2 players that are never played? i know they are light on numbers but surely they should be played to give other lads a rest?
Well due to the timescale of the rebound there was nothing the ref could do to react in time. I'm pretty sure if the ball had have been cleared upfield then the ref would have stopped it as he would have had enough thinking time.
It also happened so quickly that the ref never had the chance to stop the game. Just a bit of straw gasping from some Rnagers fans. Is there any news on Papac? Concussion was the last I heard.
Who is Kerkhar? This is news to me never heard of him Bartley done what they wanted him to do try and win free kicks, it wasn't about scoreing goals from play but try and win a long ball and then a free kick.
Take off your blinkers will you. Joof is a ****ing liability and a thug and if you think he's innocent then there is not raelly much to say is there?
why was the big CB sent off? buhgera? (Sp) great tackle + crowd goes nuts = red card. Is that always the case at Celtic Park? I thought the guy put in 110% into that match and it was a shame to see him walk even tho he did have a nasty one on Hooper.
I dont have blinkers on. I support Liverpool mate (didnt rate him much when he was with us) but i feel he gets unfair treatment because of who he is, some would say deservedly so but thats just not fair. plain and simple. PS explain 1 thuggish thing he did last night?
He doesn't get unfair treatment. He got correctly booked and correctly red carded for abusing the referee. The fact that he comes in for 'treatment' from other players and fans is down to his own behaviour. The end of last night's game being a classic example. Taking off his shirt and throwing it at the Rangers fans as if he was an Ibrox legend who had achieved something. It was childish petulance.
It was a thankyou gesture more than anything. He is a very loyal person. your chav of a manager is the common demoninator in every skirmish last night. He's the real thug. horrible man.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/default.stm Theres your 'thug' What was Mjallby saying at half time that got a reaction from Bartley? He's obviously shouting something at Diouf, who Bartleys trying to get away from everything Celtic deserved to win, but what a bunch of bad winners. As soon as the whistle went Scott Brown started running towards Diouf I think, but the camera changed. Was this another attempt to get a front page on the Celtic News?
Did you see Bougherra's assault on Gary Hooper? that was a straight red card on it's own. No way he can feel aggrieved to see red last night.
Aaah, selective eyesight. One, Lennon was smiling and offered his hand to Ally. It was that fat prick who said something to provoke a reaction. Should stick to game shows 'cause he's ****ing useless as a manager. Two, it was Diouf who went running after Brown at half-time, mouthing away like a gay Mr T. Mjallby told him to **** off and Bartley did the girlfriend "it's not worth it" routine. You came to Celtic Park to try and kick us off the park and we handed you a good spanking. It's becoming something of a habit.
