Yes, it was up near the top on the right.
I used to have to work on Saturday morninigs but we used to all assemble in DB Plaza on a Friday night and get drinks from the 7-11. People used to come and join as as they arrived back from work. Virtually every Saturday morning I would be hungover on that boat to work.
D Plaza is virtually unchanged but DB itelf is much bigger and not so nice.
Used to love going over to the Seebreeze in Pengchau as well.

Bloody hell CCJ we probably knew each other back then! I used to work on the airport and got the boat back to DB Plaza for beers and then a slap up at Chilli n' Spice by the ferry terminal. I lived on Parkvale in the low rise flats going up to the golf course

Incredibly small world isn't it? I was on Tsing Ma Bridge. A really good friend of mine was on the Airport - Paul Medland. You probably knew him as he loved a few beers and was pretty well known on that project. I lived up on Caperidge Drive but remember Parkvale. Some of our guys lived up there.
I went back to visit HK for the first time since I left (16 years!). We went back to DB for a look and it still looks a nice place to live although it has sprawled out a bit now. Definitely worth a visit though

Have to say I loved it for three years, especially the opportunity to see other bits of the Far East, but was ready to leave when my first 'tour' was up, it was getting a bit claustrophobic. Made some lifelong friends though, who are now scattered around the world from Japan to Brazil, along with a few still in HK.
Great stories and old names of boozers bandied about here! We used to live in LKF, Yelts Inn was our main joint, and anywhere else that would let us in. Used to start in Stanley village as thats where we were based. China jump was a regular haunt, as well as the The Bull and Bear in central, and the Old China Hand at 6am fora full English breakfast washed down with a pint of Carlsberg, plenty of tattoos at Ricky's as well! Thanks for the memories you lot!
Was there in the Royal Navy. Time shared between Singapore and Hong Kong between 1968 and 1970, been back once since, not as magical as it was then though.
That's an outstanding posting for a young lad, and I'm relieved to be not quite the 'oldest' China Hand discovered so far......
