Trying to get everything done now, getting the food shop in at the moment. More wrapping later, starting to piss me off.
My main aim of today is to not succumb to a drink of any sort! Definitely want to leave it for a couple of days. Going to panto later, that should curtail any thoughts of a festive tipple.
I’m debating on opening a keg or having a corona. But I did sink a bottle and a half of wine last night, so probably should behave.
Yeah, me too. Finished off an open bottle of Rioja then ploughed through another. Not opening one later but if someone else does...........
Was planning a quiet night tonight after the works Christmas party last night. Alas I whilst drunk apparently arranged to meet a mate and his mrs for Christmas drinks whilst I was drunk on Thursday. Got a call an hour ago asking where we were meeting. Have no recollection of said conversation. Needless to say the Mrs isn’t happy about it after she had planned her night of tv and food. So am off out on the piss again.
a nice xmas story. https://www.unilad.co.uk/film-and-t...FePh30ZAdYTg9Mzvr3kkNDFpCvYkYKYepF2YRSCxI-vTE
What a **** day. Massive hangover. Had to do my Christmas shopping. Got into town and realised I’d left my wallet at home. Had to go back a get it and start again through the traffic. shopping done, then went and did the food shop £200 down. now just walked into a pub that had a rusty nail sticking out of a door frame and have torn my new Barbour jacket. Which is my second wax jacket I’ve ripped in a month.
Got last few food bits today and finished all of my wrapping so time to chill now. Picking by boy up tomorrow afternoon and going ice skating which should be fun as I've never done it before.
You need Samsung pay, or whatever the more complicated yet inferior Apple version is. No need for a wallet then. Had a fairly chilled day, knocked about running arbitrary errands, had the car cleaned while having a pint with mate, came home, had coq aux vin for tea and am now planning the ski holiday having a glass or two of wine. Haven't set foot in any insane shops once this period. Have got a waxed jacket for Christmas!
Had my mum phone earlier and ask about going to my sisters for xmas dinner (which i've already declined), who has xmas dinner at 12/1pm these days? Plus the added fact that now she guardianship of her granchild, they've gone way overboard, they were around yesterday for a cuppa, and what she was telling me i felt disgusted. they've probably spend 6/7 hundred on presents for one child. He's ****ing 6 ffs. Kids are going without, and they alone have spent that, without the other stuff. Needless to say he's getting nowt off me. So anyway, i like my peace and quiet when i'm off, so the thought of xmas dinner at lunchtime, and a squaking kid, i refused again politely.
But in the same conversation and interesting thing cropped up, i asked my mum about xmas cards, and as it turns out, not many are sendind them this year, since the death of my gran. They are instead donating their xmas card money and postage to either alzheimers or dementia fund... Now this is something i'd like to see going forward, in an era where everyone is in constant contact, give that little bit to a charity off your choice,
