with our current squad we cant let them go.

Macca provides cover at CB and RB, two postions we are short of at present
Oli has was experience, if McKenna was out we wouldnt have a old head in the centre (Koren gets too far forward), that would change if we get Coutts
Simpson had great vision and movement before he came to us, think he struggled to settle, then we got Fryatt, now his confidence is shot. I would keep him

That been said, get a versitile defender, Coutts and a couple of forwards all can go.

yes we had Stewart and Simpson up front and we scored goals galore.

Then Adam Pearson stuck his neb in and we bought 2 strikers. You could say Fryatt has come off but definately not Maclean. And Stewart has never been the same player since.

Yes,you could say Fryatt has come off. You could also say,he was our only hope of a goal last season. But some choose to slate him all the same. Simpson deserved a longer run at that point. Mclean ? A very good bloke who works hard.

McLean - A very good league 1 player who works hard and scores goals at a lower level

Same old rubbish still being peddled then?

No-one hasn't had a fair crack of the whip at City in the last two seasons. Everyone trains in front of the manager every day, everyone gets a chance to work hard and show what they've got. The simple fact is that there are better players ahead of them and when they have had the chance to play, they haven't done enough to keep them out.

And anyone calling player who were an important part of a team that finished 8th last season "League One" players needs to give their head a shake.

We've seen flashes of the player Simpson can be, if we can get him back to the form he showed at the back end of 2010 it'll be like having a new signing. If Bruce is going to give these players a chance, hopefully they'll grab it with both hands.

Why is it Adam's fault? We only had 1 senior striker and it took him half a season to score his first goal. We obviously needed strikers, the problem was that Nigel simply didn't get value out of the £2.5m spent and he struggled to keep 3 of them involved. He made some good signings but his attacking ones were pretty poor.

HDM said in the Jakupovic signing story that we had a 23 man squad out there (that Jakupovic was going to join). I'm assuming based on the contracts they had that means:

Amos, Oxley (named in an article somewhere), Cracknell (sure it said somewhere we had two keepers out there before the Amos signing)

Rosenior, McShane, Chester, Hobbs (taken to be part of the group), Cooper, Bradley, Dawson, Dudgeon

Koren, Evans, McKenna, Cairney, Olofinjana, Stewart, Devitt

    Fryatt, McLean, Simpson

plus 2 of Townsend (contract to 2014), Emerton, and Cullen (out of contract as far as I'm aware). Of course it could have been 23 before Amos signed, in which case that would mean all 3 of them were out there.

Oh, once Olofinjana leaves it makes McLean the most expensive player in the squad.

I assume that's actually supposed to be McShane?

Fran McCaffrey, Danny East and some of the other youth players are out there too.

I was meaning transfer fee rather than wages.

Either we've got more than the reported 23 players out there then or some of those I listed aren't there which would be interesting. (Hobbs definitely is as Bruce said he's been taken to be part of the group, and Rosie has been training with him due to his Achilles problem)

Regardless what you might think about Barmby or Pearson, Simpson would have made the team if he'd put it in on the training pitch. You don't splash out on a player and not pick him for no reason. I hope we get this Proschwitz and maybe another striker to go with Fryatt, unfortunately Mclean is a bit below standard despite being being a great team-player.

McLean is not up to standard for a top half championship club then, is that better?

    Ah, got you.

I think Jakupovic, Amos and McShane all flew out separately, so maybe weren't included in the 23(I've also seen no mention of Cracknell being there).
