I'm really hoping that history will show Klopp is the illegitimate love child of Benitez and Rodgers.

The emotion and positive energy of Rodgers however with the skill and ability of a Benitez.

Rodgers was tactically inept but likable as a person. Benitez was brilliant and a tactical genius but had the personality of a post-retirement zombie accountant who just snapped his favourite hb pencil.

When things went well Benitez was the best manager a club could have. When things went bad he didn't have the people skills to motivate the squad.

Harsh on Rodgers, he had a great ability to change his plans to adapt to the current situation and make the most of his resources, which is why most seasons he was able to put a run of loads of unexpected wins together

The problem is by the end due to injuries and poor recruitment he had no clear dependable players to build around so this flexibility turned into getting lost

A crap manager like Mourinho has one fixed way of playing, and demands a chequebook big enough to buy whatever he needs to implement that one way of playing

New Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has confirmed that there is a break clause in his contract should he not manage to keep the club in the Barclays Premier League.

However, the 55-year-old Spaniard, who will send out his team for the first time at leaders Leicester on Monday evening, is convinced it will not be used as he attempts to pull off a 10-game rescue mission.

Speaking as he was unveiled to the media at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, Benitez said when asked about the clause: “Yes, but some people can see this as special, but it’s normal.

“I am coming here trying to do my best to stay in the Premier League and if I have a compromise for the future, it’s because I am convinced that we will do well. I want to stay here – that means that I want to win from Monday.”

He tried chicken tikka masala most of his first season and failed at it miserably not realising it didn't work with our squad. Then he switched to all out attack that worked when Suarez was in the team. Then he didn't know what to do.

He was never able to master the possession game he swore He loved and he wasn't able to organise a defensive line.

Too young to remember his first stint at Chelsea then? that sounds about right.
I would have thought you were old enough to see his Madrid team though.

I'd say the formula of all his sides have been pretty similar, and to be fair why would he change his ways when he has been pretty successful at every club he has been at.

Nope, he cuts his cloth to the players he has.
First Chelsea team was built on a very good, controlling midfield and great striker backed by a solid defence (attack oriented)
Madrid team was built on a great attack, great midfield and ok defence (attack oriented)
Second Chelsea team had a good striker, 3 great attacking mids, a very good defensive mid and a good defence (no control of midfield so park the bus came in)

Their success was based on the sides defence. They conceded the fewest PL goals and had a record amount of clean sheets in a season. They had a very good attack with Lampard, Robben, Drogba & Duff (plus likes of Gudjohnsen & Cole) but ultimately their strength was their defence and I wouldn't say the side was attack oriented. The team was built on the strength of the Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Essien & Makelele defensive spine.

    Inter was much the same.

The only exception was Madrid but it could be argued its why he wasn't as successful as he previously has been because he tried to change his formula up a bit to please the fans/board and ended up second best to Barcelona.

It could be argued he wasn't as successful because he was up against Barca, didn't do too bad in the cups though.

Indeed. Buy all the already peaked house hold names at double their set value. Sell off or stiffle all the young players. Neglect the academy. 3 years later because you're buying at peak players you need to replace them.

Get fired when club refuses to keep buying a brand new team of peaked household names each season.

Next manager inherits a club where owners are sick of overspending but all the promising youth have departed and he has a bunch of aging primadonnas who don't want to work.

Happens at every club he visits. You may get a few glory years again but then you're in the ****ter. Jose is bad news long term.
