Mike, give it a rest - I went to the game and the problem ain't the manager.... As for "Time for a change in the dugout, the players have lost faith in him" you are having a ****ing laugh... I've lost faith in some of the PLAYERS whose attitudes stink, not the manager. Derek McInnes is a football manager and not Harry ****ing Potter, he has no Elder wand to wave and make the players perform better. That's something called professional pride...
but it IS the manager.. why can't he get his own players motivated to playing in one of the most prestigous cups in the world?? I won't even comment on that he left our best striker on the bench.. Yes the players are crap.. But who's players are there?? Certainly not gary johnsons who you seem to blame from time to time. Everything relates back to the manager? why are the players crap? because he buys crap players.. why do they look like they couldn't give a damn?? manager can't motivate them.. sooner he's gone and his merry band of scottish/cockneys tools are gone the better.
Every time, you come back to DM's "crap signings" - so let's look at them then, the PERMANANT ones (i.e. the future) Heaton - not crap Foster - debateable but certainly not worse than we had Wilson (M) - IS crap (but short term signing) Cunningham - excellent Pearson - good until break up, will be good again if he sorts himself out Morris - mistake Anderson - looks very promising Baldock - excellent Davies - excellent So, apart from Morris who never plays and M Wilson, the rest will form a large part of this team in the seasons going forward so I am afraid you have it ARSE backwards... What you don't seem to understand is that we have to use some short term signings until we can have the big clear out (12) in the summer...
Having had a night's sleep to calm down after yesterday's shambles, I've come to the conclusion that he may have left out Bates, Baldock, Davies, maybe Elliott because he does not want them to pick up injuries which could hamper any recovery in the league. If Joe Bryan had been fit, I think he would have left out Cunningham also. And I am surprised that he did not play Gerken either. I know it hurts to lose any match and when I was a young 'un, the FA Cup held a magic appeal for all fans. But as far as this competition is concerned, times really have changed and Championship survival is paramount. Although on this matter, I am fast coming to the conclusion, that we are doomed whether we change manager or not. Having seen six relegations, the signs are all there and perfectly exhibited yesterday by a lack of pride by some.
pearson is ****e, have no idea what games you watch.. his "break up" has nothing to do with his pathetic performances. You talk about this stability bullcrap.. his long term signings, what happens if we go down?? he's had long enough now.. 16 months.. and we're going backwards.
NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blackpool's greatest manager was Joe Smith from 1935 until 1958. Three FA Cup Finals in five years 1948/1951/1953 winning the last one in the "Matthews Final" All through 40's, 50's and into 60's they positively oozed international caps for England, Scotland like George Farm, Stan Matthews, Stan Mortensen, Jackie Mudie, Jimmy Armfield, Alan Ball, Harry Johnston. In my childhood, they were a glamour side and I was thrilled to be taken over to Cardiff three years running in the early 50's to see them. Hollowhead did well but not a hope he will be remembered as a great Blackpool manager.
Dont want to sound pedantic Cidered, but aside from Joe Smith, Ian Holloway is probably their 2nd most successful manager of recent decades. I'd have him at the Gate like a shot, not that he'd ever come here.
Agree about his success at Blackpool but my point was that choosing him as all time greatest Blackpool manager is like saying Bob Taylor is City's greatest ever striker over John Atyeo. As for Hollowhead as City's manager. I have no strong opinions either way on that. I've learnt over the years that screaming for the departure of our current manager is not necessarily the way to go and I've posted enough times recently that I believe the problem at City is once again a divided dressing room with enough in one gang to demoralise the rest of the team. I want to get rid of the "Pre-McInnes Idiots" before we fire Derek McInnes. If and when he does leave City, then I'll put my thinking hat on for a replacement.
