Guys, its written in The Sun!! Ignore it like everyone else does... Alex Chamberlain supposedly left us 4 or 5 times in January to join Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool...
AND NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!! Having said all that above, I've now listened to the Sun journalist Custis explaining the background to his exclusive. What he's saying is that he's been chatting to an FA insider and been left in no doubt that the FA believe: "There's no question QPR have broken the rules. They know it as well. The only debate is what to do about it. "If they aren't found guilty you might as well scrap the rules about third-party owners." Also the FA source has made clear that the maximum sanction is an undisclosed fine and/or a 15 point deduction. So that strongly suggests the Sun is right - but right about what? The FA would not have charged us with breaching those 7 regulations if after a lengthy investigation, they didn't believe QPR were guilty - we know that already so no great revelation there. What is a revelation for us (the FA would have had to have informed Rangers reps in advance) is the level of sanction applicable. The fact that in their protests about media speculation, neither the FA nor Rangers have disputed maximum sanction. So again, no great revelation there either. However, what the protests against the Sun are about is the way it presented the story, like it's a done deal: Rangers will (definitely) be docked 15 points. This is misleading and now appears very unlikely for the following reasons. There are two levels to these hearings: 1. is the accused guilty of the charges as put; and 2. if so, what is their case for mitigation (in other words can the club convince the inquiry that something less than the maximum punishment is appropriate in this case?). It seems to me that we're probably guilty as charged; and that our future hangs on our reps ability to present a case for mitigation sufficient to reduce a points deduction so as not to preclude automatic promotion (e.g. zero to 5 points). If this is the case we would surely argue that any points deduction that prevented promotion to the premier league would effectively become an additional financial sanction to the tune of ã80 million plus. This would clearly be ott in this case - and a simple increase on the level of fine would be a just outcome! So, you lot, you could yet be right, minimal if any points deduction - and promotion (if the team are still up for it) to the prem! Joy? Certainly - provided you're comfortable with the smoke coming out of the directors (and ex-directors) lounge! What Lakshmi will think of throwing lots of good money after bad is anyone's guess - but these self-made super rich guys ain't known for spending pennies unnecessarily...
If we're guilty then we have to accept any punishment coming our way. It's all conjecture at the moment, & everyone has their own opinion on the level of severity punishment should be. Depending on who you support I guess! My problem with all this is more with the timing, of both yesterday's "revelations" in the Sun & the hearing itself. The Sun story came on the eve of what could arguably be our most important game of he season. No matter how good Neil has been at reassuring the players that all will be OK, it must be on their minds that all the hard work since August could all have been in vain. Also, the timing of the hearing itself. I think originally the FA decided upon the 4th May to give QPR plenty of time to prepare their case. But what they've done is created themselves a nightmare. If they do eventually deduct points, then that throws the entire top of the Championship into virtual meltdown! The play offs would have to be reorganised & so on, with no time left to sort it out. And worst of all, as in all these cases, on one ever considers us, the poor supporters! I've never been a great lover of Luton Town, but I did feel for their fans when they were deducted 30 points, effectively ensuring relegation. No fans deserve that!
The F.A. are distancing themselves from this according to the BBC website. I doubt many of us will sleep much between now and Friday.
I have actually heard a law in the past in this sort of case that they cannot deduct an amount of points which would make sure you can't get promoted or if you have already got promotion, They can't take away points so that this changes the circumstances.
this is the Sun we're talking about people, one of the least credible newspapers out there. As it is the figure of 15 points has just been drawn out of thin air as there is no precedent nor is there any part of the rules that says 15 points must be deducted. Im pretty sure this is nothing more than bullshit created by the sun to pass the time. Anyway as it is, now the Rs are going up
No worries it's NOT true. The Sun is a piece of **** comic read and written by ******s. Remember the story about Hillsborough? Scumbag paper.
Hull fan in peace. Keep your heads up guys! The Sun are talking bollocks, you'll probably just receive a fine or a small points deduction which'll still see you go up. Anyway, until friday comes around just enjoy the party!
Whether this is true or not, I don't really see the issue. Either it's made up, in which case we are no different from before; or else it's true - The Sun really have an FA insider and these conversations have taken place - in which case their case against u' has been prejudiced by the story and our lawyers will simply get the charges thrown out, because the FA would have made a complete mockery of any 'independent' tribunal and process.
