I'm still amazed that 24/48 hours after Swansea made their increased offer that other clubs haven't jumped in to gazump the bid - mind you if that did happen I guess we'd still be stuck at 3.5m now although maybe slightly better add-ons.

Swans fan here, other than the fact he was the champ top scorer last season, I don't know much about Graham, what would you say are his strenghths and weaknesses? Cheers!

Danny Graham has an amazing work ethic. He runs tirelessly all over the pitch and plays for the team. He is never selfish, and works so hard it's a wonder at the end of the match he's still standing. He's worth far more than £3.5m and you've got yourself a good deal, if he comes to you.

Hasn't Long got history in the Premiership with Reading? That could explain the higher fee.

Good question. Whilst it would be nice to see HH back that would definately be a temporary stop gap and £500k would be a lot for that. Not sure HH can put in the 90 he used to. The thing is with that scenario at least we are definately getting a replacement. Can't think we'll see any of the £3.5m being spent on players.

Bradleysdad, in the Prem Long started 16 times, 34 as a sub and scored 5 goals over a couple of seasons. A little inconclusive, but I guess he's also a ROI international. I guess the CMS comparison is a better one then!

Strengths: outstanding work-rate, good touch, deadly finisher with either foot, fair bit of pace, strong, good in the air, team player

    Weaknesses: N/A

Well it was the 4th that we got wind of Swansea's increased bid & the 6th when it was confirmed officially.

Still no deal signed but more significantly no increased offers from any of the other interested parties so maybe the club have got as much as they can?

Certainly for now anyway, maybe they would get more in a rush close to the transfer deadline but then we would have no time to pick & choose replacements, players that may well have been earmarked for bids already.

Well, no-one is going to offer more now if they know that £3.5m is the acceptable amount. The only way they can swing DG's decision is personal incentives! The fact that no other teams have come in at even £3.5m as yet may suggest how much he is valued outside of Watford....

Personally I would prefer someone like WBA to come in with a similar (probably slightly less) amount but throw in a player or two as well. It's unlikely Malky will see a significant amount of the cash, so if we can get a replacement or other postions covered as part of the deal, then I think it will be a pretty good deal.

    Yes I agree Kev.
My main point was that none of the other bidders have even been rumoured to be increasing their bids to match the 3.5m Swansea bid so maybe the club have done the best they could at this time.

Even though us fans value him much higher. Still, there is still time as no deal has been signed.

Apologies if you have seen this:

Danny Graham was in Swansea today and has REJECTED the move, electing to remain at Watford for the time being.

With the greatest respect to Swansea, it seems Graham was slightly perturbed by the town itself in comparison to his highly affluent current North London neighbourhood, and concerned about the educational prospects for his small children.

It is expected money will eventually talk.

I do agree Chris... and the problem is if he doesn't like the idea of Swansea and the other teams don't value him at £3.5m, then it does look like a good deal, despite Watford fans thinking he is worth a lot more! A player is worth only what teams are prepared to pay.....

"Night all ...roll on tomorrow #dubai for some sun and rest #holiday" - from his twitter.

He may have been in Swansea yesterday I suppose. I wonder if he is waiting for the toon to get involved?
