P.S. If there are add-ons, vis-a-vis Swansea avoiding relegation, that doesn't placate me. We're unlikely to see that money, in my opinion.

I hope Randy Lerner does his business rather differently when negotiating Ashley Young's sale!

Totally agree with you OLM:( at Ashleys stock would have gone up today!, Him and Rooney playing together at club level could only help England, Capello depending of course!

I know Bazzini's got experience of running a strip club, albeit unsuccessfully, but I had hoped he wouldn't turn Watford into an asset stripping club.

You're right about Young, Norway. We can only hope that we get a good chunk of c. £20m, which must surely be his value as an England international.

Wonder how he'll develop, assuming he does move. I must admit, I didn't think all that much of him at first but he really turned it on under Boothroyd. Now that sale to Villa was, for me, a classic example of how players should leave clubs: for a fair value, on good terms, to a team which represents a significant step upwards.

What we need to do is re-adopt the one, and only, good thing about Mark Ashton's time at the helm: make a habit of preparing glossy brochures.

It worked for Michael Owen. It worked for Ashton, as he concealed the fact that under his management we somehow pissed £60m up the wall in exchange for **** all, and were stupid enough to pay him more than the price of bread and water for his efforts.

If Dasani is looking to sell the entire squad for **** all, then he might as well make one up for each player.

I agree about the timing. It seems that if Mr Bassini were to get a good poker hand, a big grin would be plastered across his face...

If it's true, it's gutting. Even if he'd managed to push it up to £4m...i'd have been happier...just very very disappointed right now.

Some interesting views on here, but can we get back to some facts.

The season ticket loan (£1.8m ish) needs to be repaid by the end of this month or there are penalties, so the board i.e. LA not "Baz the clown" had to act fast. Don't forget Bassini has not put much cash in (if any) himself, so talk of him taking money out of the club isn't relevant. Ashcroft wants to reduce his "exposure" to Watford and therefore has targets - I remember someone saying there is a 5 year repayment plan, let me just say its not back end loaded.

This is not the last sale this summer - I still believe the sales will total £5m. I reckon if the club bring this figure in, then MM will get approx £500k transfer kitty and a wage budget of £9m.

We obviously need to see the details of this transfer - how much cash and when, and how much of any stated fee is down to Swansea surviving and DG being a success. Talk of "re-investment" is very premature, Malky knows the position of how much cash needs to be brought in before he can spend. There will be a formula for Malky to spend ..... once the minimum cash target has been reached then Malky will be able to spend a certain percentage.

Let's face it we all knew this summer would be hard.

1.7 m for Priskin to Ipswich! and cant remember how much we got for Jobi , but a lot less than we paid for him!
Not forgetting the 500k for an at the time rookie manager!

I make no apologies for the foul language in this post, but I would like to make clear that it is not aimed at any not606er (unless Dasani happens to be a member).

Elixir, on footballing grounds I think it is best for all concerned that Danny is sold by mid-July at the latest. The importance for him and his replacement(s) to have a good pre-season cannot be overstated.

But although I take the season ticket loan comment on board, I'm not accepting any spin on the current situation. The fact of the matter is that you shouldn't ****ing buy a Championship football club if you can't ****ing afford to run a Championship football club. I accept that the owner shouldn't be a bottomless pit. Indeed, it's not unreasonable for an owner to expect to get back any money he loans to the club. But if we're selling a player for £3.5m, and some of that will be passed on to Carlisle, then it stands to reason that even if he were to break his leg and not get sold, and your £5m figure is accurate, we would still be on course to raise £1.8m anyway. The chances of us not raising £1.8m through transfers one way or the other is less than negligible.

If Dasani is too thick to put together a contingency plan to solve what should at most be two to four week cash flow issue, he shouldn't be running a cake stall, let alone one of the 40 best football teams in the world's wealthiest footballing nation.

I wish it was just that..

Don't forget we made a 2.5 million loss in SIX months to go with the 3.5 million from the year before plus the 10 million loan Ashcroft put it.

Your right to say we'd be better off with a richer owner we cannot be navie and think the Danny Graham money will slove everything.

Also understand players do need to be replaced as we don't want to to be left with an even weaken squad...as relegation would do the club no good at all though.

Its a fine line really but we are worse off than some think.

Believe it or not though..there are teams far worse off..crazy I know but all the money is in the Premiership really.

What I don't understand is why we had to go to some sort of loan shark for this money, why weren't the banks a better proposition - or were they not interested in lending to us? If not, why not? Why is it we can convince a loan shark that we're good for the money and not a bank.

I'm worried about a club that irons out peaks and troughs in cash flow with wonga.com
