If we were going to take a Premier League manager with one season's worth of experience, I'd take Paul Lambert over Rodgers. Nothing against Rodgers, as he's done a great job, but Lambert looks like the next Moyes.
I'm from Reading and Rodgers was dreadful when he was manager of the Royals although he did a decent enough job as reserve and youth manager to get Mourinho to approach him and joined Chelsea.
Anyway, if we appoint him I fear that we will go back to being a mid-table side like we used to be before BMJ took us into the top six.
If we had to 'poach' someone I too would prefer a Lambert or Martinez or even Moyes over Rodgers.
Ideally though it would be Mourinho as no chance of us dropping out of the top 6 with him as boss.
Van Gaal wouldn't cost us a penny to bring in - although there may be a clause in his contract that says that, every time we win a trophy, he gets to fly out to Amsterdam to rub Cruyff's nose in it...
