A group of fans who couldn't be arsed to saver their club from dying, but have a rather canny knack at raging over perceived slights and boycotting clubs, brands, and corporations.

RANGERS have reported Livingston to the Scottish Professional Football League and are demanding an apology over remarks made in their official programme for Saturday's match, which the visitors won thanks to a Lewis Macleod goal, and which was also marked by scuffles inside and outside the ground.

The Ibrox club are furious over an article which called them "the club then known as Rangers" when referring to a fixture that took place three years ago. The programme also stated that "140 years of success, both domestically and in Europe, was consigned to history when, four months to the day after entering administration, the club was liquidated on 14 June 2012".

Kris Boyd was described as having had "a hugely successful spell with the now-defunct club" and the weekend match-up was labelled the first-ever meeting between the clubs. The SPFL will be launching an investigation into the crowd trouble at the game after their match delegate, Alan Dick, included details of it in his match report.Five first-half arrests were made after scuffles between stewards and fans in the away supporters section. "It looked pretty unsavoury," said Ally McCoist, the Rangers manager.

Should be interesting to see what the SPFL do.

...and they went tonto after getting all offended at the programme.

If they get promoted, club's insurance bills will sky rocket next year, man.

I'd love to have seen their faces when they read that programme, i'm surprised they did not head straight for George Square.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has hit out at the Ibrox side’s supporters after there were ‘unsavoury’ scenes in the Rangers end at Almondvale on Saturday afternoon.

During Rangers’ 1-0 win over Livingston, trouble kicked off when Police tried to arrest a Rangers supporter in the stand. As Police were escorting him from his seat, Rangers fans in the vicinity raced down the stairs to confront officers and tore the fan in question from Police custody.

McCoist said: “I did see it and it looked pretty unsavoury but until I get a report on it I would be loath to comment on it. However, it goes without saying we could do without incidents like that.”

With the incident starting to turn uglier, the Police withdrew and were met with a barrage of obscenities and chants of scum from Rangers fans. This same element of supporters belted out the bigoted Billy Boys song with ‘up to our knees in fenian blood’ add on.

Five Rangers fans were arrested after scuffles with police, and there were also reports of clashes outside the stadium following the match. Livingston’s security chief Allan Scott confirmed that no officers or stewards were injured, but added that reports will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

The Ibrox side could face sanctions from the SPFL over the trouble and sectarian singing, if it is noted in the referee or match delegate’s report.

Breath not held.

Quite why this doesn't get the coverage the "Dundee riot" did, you'd almost think people would want to play down the amount of ****e that's going to happen next year unless Hibs perk up.

It's quite clear what they were singing, how that could go unreported would be a mystery.

As for Fat Sal:

“I did see it and it looked pretty unsavoury but until I get a report on it I would be loath to comment on it. However, it goes without saying we could do without incidents like that.”

Although he did not see the team bus get torched, he was happy to comment on that, cast aspertions even. Looks as if he's mellowing.

At least a good front page splash.

If Rangers get promoted, every time they get tanked or someone doesn't write in the programme notes "Rangers are most definitely over 140 years old, yes sirree, boy, absolutely nothing befell them recently", then you'll get this ****e.

There's an awful lot of beel being saved up over the past few years.

They should write it like that every time, without fail <rofl>
