The context Suarez and Pacheco said what they said in are very different. One was to a mate and the other said in anger to a stranger. The words used were also different. Negrito and Negro.

Lol what would be Suarez' case when he admitted to the offence against him in the evra case. He said he used the word Negro and I dont think anyone believes it was in a positive or even neutral sense. So whats he suing everyone for? Also what the **** has the bosman case got to do with the Suarez one? One involves a player banned for an offence and the other a player arguing about his right to leave a club after his contract expired.

While I agree that it wasn't the smartest thing to do how many Brits had even heard the word before the Suarez case? Suarez's offence seemed to be that he should've known, after a year of learning the language, that the term was likely to offend according to British culture. Evra himself said he didn't believe Suarez is racist. But the FA couldn't afford to accept it was a cultural misunderstanding because it would have been presented as them going soft on the issue, after all the fuss immediately preceding it with Blatter's statement. There's also the charge that the FA had an agenda to stand in contrast to Blatter in order to embarrass him and FIFA for the slap in the face over our World Cup bid. Liverpool were denied an appeal because the noise from the media and people in the game made out it would just cause further embarrassment and the club had no right to question a 135-page FA report.
