I wonder if Evans would continue to invest if this did happen. Makes you think ?

Despite all the soundbites, I reckon ME would sell next week if he were made an offer. As every season passes he's haemoraging money <ok>

Nice post Jedi but what you conveniently fail to mention is that we finished 5th and qulaified for Europe in our spell where as you have only made up the also rans! Fair play to you though for what you have achieved over the last few years.

Beefy you may be right as we don't have as much experience of football in the 3rd tier like you have. The last time we were down there was 55 years ago when even Dave and KIO were middle aged!

Ok folks. Mod hat on now, which is something that I don't often have to do (hopefully you will agree with me on that point)

I am quite willing to let the thread continue, as long as debate and banter prevail.
No petty name calling or insults please.

    Guru and Thai.
may I respectfully suggest that you sort out your differences in pm and not on here where others could add fuel to the fire, instead of pouring water on it.
If this isn't possible, then I suggest you both hit the 'ignore' button.

As has been said earlier in the thread, 99% of the time there is good natured banter between both sets of fans, and I certainly would not consider banning any Ipswich poster from here, unless they broke the rules, and even then, they would have had fair warnings from Dave and myself.

Thai had his reasons for leaving his mod role, and that is his perogative. Whether you liked him as a mod or not is not open to debate. Neither are his reasons for leaving the post. it takes a lot of balls, or in my case stupidity, to be a mod on here and take some of the behind the scenes **** that goes on - remember that spammer from last week?

In short chaps, please play nicely and leave the name calling out of here.

    Cheers all.

Yes, Warky, I do. The irony is, however, had I posted this on the 1p5wich forum, there would have been virtually no response at all.

For the record, I'm happy to see you guys having a bit of a torrid time of it. Hence the post. But what goes around comes around, we all know that, and doubtless at some point there will be another role reversal between our two clubs.

But while we are in the (comparative) ascendency, it will be milked - as it would if boot were on t'other foot, lad <ok>

Why would this thread even be considered to be stopped maestro, its the most interesting thing on here all week. I've read through it all and not seen anything that bad, it wouldn't even be considered being withdrawn on the old 606. Maybe a couple of responses would have been pulled.

If people want to dish out then let them, you don't have to read it, neither do others, theres plenty of other material to look at.

Am I am right in saying anybody reading this is remotely bothered, upset? Wound up maybe but come on, we are adults, no-one is going to shed tears because of what someone has said.

Just leave people alone and let them talk about/argue what they want.

The thing is carrabuh, its not just you or adults on here we have to think about.
If a young kid comes on here, they shouldn't really be reading personal insults.
Debate and good banter yes, but personal insults no.

It takes a lot for dave or myself to close a thread, and most of the time it takes a lot of discussion, not only between us, but people 'higher up', who put their own money in so that we can have a free site, and they certainly don't want any possible hassle with court threats, as has happened in the past. Therefore, if Dave or myself see anything that we think should closed, we will discuss it deeply before acting. if you don't like that, then there is not a lot we can do about it is there?

Hope this clears things up for you a tad.

I follow TWTD on twitter purely to glean juicy snippets such as this <ok>

It started off as a "let's all laugh at 1p5wich" jibe - as they would do if the roles were reversed - however much they might deny it.

Regrettably, it got derailed somewhere, and turned into something resembling playground posturing <doh>
Apologies, Maestro/Dave if it's caused you extra hassle. I still find the binners current plight extremely amusing and will continue to rip the piss out of it while the opportunities exist.

I honestly thought the link would cause more laughter than grief <yikes>

On the subject of which, TWTD stands for 'Those were the days'.

Will they ever stop banging on about history <doh>

Come off it Maestro, this thread has hardly been malicious

The legal threat is just not even relevant here, it would have to be something pretty damn severe for that to happen, this thread is nowhere near that.

I'd be very suprised if young children are on here and nor should they be, I certainly wouldn't let my kids on here. Teenagers would hear far worse at the games, plus the swearing can be turned off.

Its a forum for discussion and debate which can get heated, not a moral councillor for children. If the personal insults were happening all the time and dominating everything I'd understand a bit more, but that is clearly not the case.

I think you and Dave come in a bit early with the warnings when there really is no need.

You are entitled to think that carrabuh, but we would rather nip it in the bud, than let it escalate, which it could have done.

Exactly, "could" of done, why not interupt and warn when it clearly has? I think we were a long way off it to be honest.

As I said earlier carrabuh, the matter was discussed and we decided to nip it in the bud. No 'official' warning was actually given. Just a gentle reminder, that was all.

Now can we close this little bit of 'off topic' and return to the topic please?

    Thank you.

I don't want the Binners to go down. I wish they were in the Prem with us and probably gift us a guaranteed 6 points a season. In fact, I don't want to see any team in the mire. Of course some teams will have good times, others bad. At the moment there are probably a dozen Prem teams who under the current system, will not being having a bad time at all. Not qualifying for the Europa league is their only black mark.
Ipswich are a tad fortunate, along with others, that they went into admin. Pretended to pay off their debts, shafted their creditors and then went out and spent a bloody fortune each week on Jimmy Bullard. That does stick in my craw. If they go down, they will be doing it with declining attendances and interest. We on the other hand increased our attendances and this kind of reaction must have played its part in our success.
I do wonder why guys come on here from other clubs, I have never been on another clubs forum. Having said that, normally JWM and Guru have now and again added a bit of mirth. This last post has been somewhat tedious and I gave up after the first few rounds of the pissing contest. Thai stood his ground fair dues and I think our friends from the A12 could have retired gracefully from the fray.
But no harm done and I'm sure some of the comments were regretted as soon as the PQR button was hit. I have had a couple of spats on here with our own guys and resolved never to do it again. Reasoned argument backed with reasonable knowledge and a touch of humour from now on.
