Any side that gives a 2-0 lead away needs to take a serious look at themselves.

One pont off the bottom three,next week is so so important,loose those two and we are going into the bottom three and looking like a side starting a relagation fight.

As soon as Bolton got a goal back it was almost inevitable that we would lose.

Part of me is pleased we are scoring 2 goals away from home at what was a Premiership club last season, but the rest of me is starting to wonder where the next win is coming from and our slide down the table is very alarming.
 
Complete inability to keep a clean sheet, even at home, is the sign of a team that will be relegated. Is this simply a back 4 problem or is the midfield just not providing any cover?

One thing for sure, this is alarming!!!!!!
 
If Carey was at mistake for these goals then I would be the first to say you had your chance to claim the spot with McManus.if he dd not and it was fontaines fault then he has had his chance after chance to stay in the side,he must be dropped.

If it was McManus fault then he can be forgiven as he has not been playing regular football.

Bottom line this is not acceptable,we could say if the midfield is the problem then it needs addressing quickly,Elliot is a big miss and must return.

All in all very worrying indeed.
 
Same old City I'm afraid and, like you Angelic, I saw the writing on the wall as soon as Bolton got back to 2-1. What is it about us that we cannot hold a lead and usually give it away in the last 10 minutes?

Obviously Bolton had a point to make at home after their manager was fired but surely a 2 goal lead should be worth at least a point if not all three. I think it only goes to prove that we still have some players whose best before date has expired and we are now showing the trends that made us potential relegation fodder in the last few seasons. Like a lot of us I don't have the answers and it is now down to Del and his motivational skills but unless we can start becoming more competitive pretty soon then the pre-season positivity will be flushed down the toilet.

The simple answer is that we still do not have a squad that can hold their own at this level and after the comments made by Del during the week about the fact that this is the squad to take us to at least the January transfer window, I am starting to get concerned. Our next home game is a veritable challenge in getting back our supporters respect but the defence needs to wake up and smell the roses or we face a bleak winter.
 
****sake Del has tried to sign long list of defenders, and said he won't rush out and get someone that won't benefit the team.And in time he will get someone in.
What we need is Cisse or a player like him who will sit in front of this scared defence always been a fan of Skuse but we need some as Redprint put it men not girls in the midfield.
We have bought youth in, with Cunningham who is really missed, Anderson will get game time in the future. Baldock is going to score goals as will Davies.
Let's be patience as I said on countless threads all this bollocks that we were dark horses for promotion is just that bollocks.
We will get better just don't expect it to happen overnight.

Mike - totally agree. Decent teams, especially at 2-0 up after 20 minutes are good enough to close down games and get the 3 points. We're the Newcastle of the Championship at the moment. Scoring goals and losing by the odd one most games
 
If you look back on our record we must be the worst team in the entire league for losing points in the last 10 minutes. Time after time we have the inabilty to build on a lead and usually end up on the wrong end of the score.

We were 2-0 up should have been 5-0 totally dominated proceedings then they scored 2 in the second half however we managed to score another to win 3-2.Its weird that a Bolton striker Eaves scored 2 for us today and is a great prospect.

You were against an ex prem side who are playing for there places following Coyles removal, its not all doom and gloom we were leaking goals then Mcghee signed up a couple of ex central defenders, as ROD says it takes time to gel a back 4 and you probably need a little lady luck to go on a run.We are short in the defence area and have a midfielder playing Left back and Clarkson yes your reject playing central midfield and really well.

Burnley up next a must win match you are not far from having a really excellent side get the defence right and you will move up the table easily.

At the moment it seems like every attack you have to hide behind the sofa been there got the tee- shirt

to follow on from cor, we know our end this season alone that it takes time for the back 4 to gel. when it does then you will get points. if you dont concede you dont lose. simple really <ok>

Bit harsh Wiz old chap, reading CoR and CJS remarks they were complimentary. Basically saying sort your defence and you have a good team.

Personally I think your club are **** and hope you go down then go bust and your club dies:D

you may want it to happen to us, but it's already happened to you :D
 
It is now pretty clesr to see how much Greg shored up and improved our defending - it also gave a new lease of life to Woolly and whilst it is not all down to one player, we miss him badly an it is no coincidence that our results have plummeted since the hatchet job by Peterborough. Any news on when we can expect him back...?

Stop panicking everyone, this season is about building and there is planty of timne to put it right. I still say we will end up a lot better than some expect when we properly click. We need a fully fit Marv as well.
 
wow. i wish i didnt bother. nice way to make guests feel welcomed on your board.

i'll just stick to what i have been doing since my return to this site. thats not post on your board unless its putting predictions down on your game.
 
Seriously Wiz are you still at primary school ?

CJS or COR didn't post any negative comments and you react like that.

Not surprised really after you banned Gashead's posting last season.
