Possible points deduction coming. I think if the ruling is after Championship play off final then it’s next season they get them. As the season is classed as over. Bit of a cop out if you ask me especially if you’re a Wycombe fan.

    Update...

I think LJ is a great appointment for Sunderland. I always have done. We have idiot supporters that will kick off over a misplaced pass never mind a bad result, so I wouldn't have looked into that too much. I suspect every club has them if the truth is known. LJ has always had the vast majority of folk supporting him and even more so now.

His vision for the club is so refreshing and what we have needed for well over a decade. He's bringing in lads that have played first team football for Bayern Munich and sat on the bench for them in a champions league final. We are still a 3rd division club. Incredible!

His style of play is what we have always craved. High pressing, quick ball movement and playing between the lines is a pleasure to watch. He inherited an aging squad that plodded along and had no pace. He has replaced them with young, quick lads who have bags of potential to improve even more.

I'm aware that at Bristol City some of your support called him Mr Streaky due to his 'ability' to win and lose matches consecutively on the bounce. So far that hasn't happened here but I am mindful of it. If you don't get promoted, hopefully we'll see you next year.

I know some of you won't be interested now he's gone but you may have supporters, like me, who like to see how former staff are getting on. Good luck to you for the rest of the season <ok>

I must have dreamed the 1 win in the last 9 games of the season, that effectively taking you out of the automatic promotion places then?

He will do better if he is allowed to be his own man and have no interference with recruitment from the suits and if you ever hear about a bloke called Mark Ashton joining your club as CEO, emigrate.

We are employing staff from the Deloite Group and the likes, mate. This Ashton guy has no chance of muscling in on this new set-up.

I've already mentioned last season LJ was managing Phil Parkinson's squad. He done well to win 1 game out of 9 with them jokers. This is his squad and now he can be judged fairly, for better or worse. Nice start, though. He's signed some of the top young talent from the premier league and Bayern Munich. We have won 6 out of the first 7 and the football is a pleasure to watch. Long may it continue.

Maybe L1 is his level, it is for a lot of players and managers. No shame in it, just embrace and enjoy it.

Or, perhaps, he needed to manage a big club to show off his best work?

Now that is an interesting comment, as many on here blame every poor result we have had since he left on it being 'his squad'. Clearly, some of our fans don't apply the same rationale to him at Sunderland last season... Shocker!!

That's funny because Sunderland were closer to the top 2 points wise when Parkinson left than where they ended

There are a lot of famous teams who now find themselves in the 3rd tier of English football. A lot will fancy their chances of promotion this year but it's a marathon not a sprint and despite a fairly good start for Sunderland and a very bad start for the likes of Ipswich and Charlton there is a long way to go. Clubs that might reasonably be expecting a tilt at promotion or finishing in the Play Off places from the 3rd Division would be Wycombe, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Sunderland, Charlton, Ipswich, Lincoln etc.
Interesting times ahead for lower league football <laugh>

Very true, Sunderland are looking good this season, the Ashton effect is in full swing at Ipswich already a scatter gun 19 signings

It's been a ridiculous transfer window that Ipswich had. Come the end of it they were buying players to replace the earlier players they'd bought who weren't performing as expected. They've replaced a squad of league one quality with a load of signings from mainly league one and two and they think that somehow that will work out better for them.

I'm confident Sunderland will go up this season. Watching the early games so far, us and Sheff Wed seem to be a bit above everything else I've seen in this league. Early days though and squads will still be coming together and improving.

Biggest club he's managed in every way, so far. Huge support, big history, great stadium, top level training facilities, grade one academy status, money no issue.

it's all part of the Delboy philosophy "this time next year, we'll be millionaires Rodney".

Several years ago the pikey gasheads got a new owner a Chelsea supporting, nice watch wearing Jordanian banker. They told the world he was 2nd richest owner of a football club after the Manc bloke, they carried him on their shoulders around the ground, they were going to have new ground better than ours, they were going to be the biggest team in Bristol and the premiership in a few years.

Reality = he has barely kept them afloat, still playing at the same **** hole, haven't been in the same division as us for over 20 years and now struggling in the bottom league and best of all he employed belter Barton as their manager who will be in court twice in the coming months both for assault, once on a fellow football manager and also his missus.

I hope you aren't comparing Sunderland to Bristol Rovers ffs <laugh>

Barton is a ****er, always has been ****er and has a weird obsession with Sunderland. I can't believe the FA haven't already banned him from the game for good. Assualting people in city centres and going to jail. Stubbing ciggarettes out in youth team players eyes. Headbutting fellow managers. No idea what else he needs to do for them to do that, tbh.

I am comparing football fans expectations and their belief of their clubs standing in the game.

You are big club stuck in the 3rd tier with other historical big clubs, you have pots of money at the moment, I have lost count of teams who had pots of money and then the owner gets bored with how much it's costing and how slow the transformation has taken and then suddenly they are another big club with no money, debts and looking at a huge points deduction.

That is why I am happy with our position and expectation, I saw us for 4 years in the top league in the late 70's, we were one of the biggest payers in the old first division, we took on several established internationals, who joined because we offered them more than their clubs offered them, then saw 3 relegations on the trot and bering within hours of going out of existence, saved by 8 players agreeing to tear up long lucrative contracts, for one week we were bottom of 4th division, but have clawed our way back to where we are now, we too have great stadium, a fantastic state of the art training facility and a successful academy and a very good under 23 team, we have the use of the rugby clubs (owned by our owner) indoor grassed facility to train on at their state of the art training facility.

But the difference is, we expect nothing other than to remain where we are and be competitive anything else is a bonus to us.
