...but how can we have "laughed it off" when there is nobody from the club been quoted, they said "But when asked about the stories yesterday, Laudrup insisted he know nothing about them." But I can't find any record of Laudrup talking on the subject.... Irrespective of whether the story is true, that's quite a poor piece of journalism...
This is the Evening Post mind you, they keep reporting on Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen despite them no longer having any connection with Swansea. They also failed to notify the public that the recent car crash death was in fact a car thief in a stolen car, I gathered from the comments that many people felt let down because they felt misled into mourned a criminal.
Ok lads that's simply a smoke screen, I know for a FACT! That the club are in comunication with Barcelona over a move for a striker, so go figure who that is! I can't comment on the bookies or skybet, maybe Dai has put a wedge on Villa, after all, he's in the know!..........

Could it be Isaac Cuenca we're after instead of Villa? He's a very talented young winger/forward and he recently rejoined the training after a knee injury. A half season loan deal with him would make a lot more sense than the Villa deal.
I know that Villa has been discussed in text messages between the two clubs, but whether he'll come is another matter, but the betting on Skybet is a strange one, someone has put some substantial money down? Players? Players relative? Huws Christmas bonus? Who knows, but exciting times are here!......... To be honest, the only thing I'm worried about is would he get in the team ahead of Schecter?.............
That's what I've heard too Dragon, we've been scouting Barca B and their youngsters basically since Erik Larsons arrival. The doors between us and Barca are wide open due to Laudrups God-like status there, I just hope he doesn't get too pally given their current managerial plight; Tito Vilanova battling with cancer. For all reasons good and selfish, I hope he wins his battle. We have supposed to have 'pre-signed' a young forward who outside of scouting reports is relatively an unknown, but potentially dynamite, we'll just have to wait and see. Swansea City 3-1 Man Utd, my wettest dream ever.

This has always been paper talk and nobody from the club has said anything, they also have not denied it either that suggests that some communication has took place. the club wont confirm anything unless its concrete but that does not mean talks are not taking place.....we know we will have a few new faces in January as laudrup has said as much and one may be villa we dont know......we will find out soon enough on who is coming and who is leaving soon enough but i think Danny has turned down joining cardiff so i hear, I dont mind if he wants to stay and fight for his place but he had better start working on his finishing if he wants laudrup to play him regular...I think Norwich are still interested in him but that would be giving him to our rivals and we dont really want to do that...stay and fight is the best bet if he is happy being a bit part player....

I will just confirm what Dragon and stumpy have said, the club are/were in talks with Villa, that is true. As i said in the origional article on this story, nobody knows how far it has gone or if it will happen, as far as i can see nobody on this message board has said anything far fetched, its taken with a strong pinch of reality,and that reality is that we are a small club who are never going to be the first port of call for any world class striker from Barcalona !! Thats what makes the story so crazy, the only factor involved here is the Laudrup factor. This is the only reason we are signing top talent like Michu and Pablo and this is the reason that somebody like David Villa would even consider a temporary move here. We should be thankful that we have a guy here that has almost Legend status in the European game, what he could potentially bring to Swansea might grow the club to a level we have never seen in our lives. Its a very exciting time to be a swans fan, there are moves behind the scences that are planning to make us a sustainable premier league team,if we can acheive this then true world class talent turning out in our shirt is only a short step away! We are still taking baby steps in prem terms,and it will be difficult to stay up this year make no mistake, but there is plenty of potential for growth on the field with Larsen and Laudrup at the helm. As i was told about Larsen before and i repeat it again,his words were that both him and Laudrup for the first time in their coaching careers have been given 100% control of team affairs and are clear where playing budgets are at,they have full backing to do the job they want to do, Larsen said that they are both desperate to do well at Swansea city and show what they can do when not being hindered by people above them selling players behind their backs and giving them bullshit stories about finances. they have an ambition to show everybody what they can do with a level playing field,and by that i mean a decent playing budget which they are more than happy with at Swansea. This Villa story may well come to nothing,it doesnt matter either,the fact is though is that they are prepared to use their influence with the likes of Barca to secure the best chance possible for the Swans to suceed, there are many in Spain who want Laudrup to ba a success and will not mind giving him a helping hand along the way, the pay back will be that a successful Laudrup will be groomed for Barca.
Stroke of genius signing Laudrup. The synergies and upside are colossal. His "street cred" bridges the small club / big club gap and for those players that put more value in professional accomplishment than fat wallets its a dream scenario - top class coach, unified club philosophy from top to bottom, top league in the world to play in, good environment to work / play / live.
